The famous river
Euphrates is one of the most famous rivers of the world, and some used to believe it flows out of Heaven. I've seen it in many places: Birecik, Qal'at an-Nagm, Qal'at Ga'bar, Ar-Raqqa, ath-Thawra, Dura Europos, Ar-Rahba, Halabiyya / Zalabiyya, Dayr az-Zawr. It's always impressive, wide and nicely blue, in some parts (Dura, Dayr az-Zawr) with canes on its sides. Rarely though there's much more green on the sides, often if appears to be flowing through barren land. The waters seem clean, I've bathed in Qal'at an-Nagm and the water was transparent, with many weeds growing in it. I think it's completely fine to bathe there.
