We stopped by the Waterfall Pericnik while driving home from Gorenska. There were enough parking spaces to park underneath the waterfall area. The clinb to the waterfall is not hard to manage, but I would not recommend it for children under 4 Years od age. Path is narrow and not secured, and you have to be careful not to slip. It is not live threatening bad, but still. It is easier if child is a bit stable and stronger in coordination. The waterfall is splendid. Very beautiful. If you stand too close you'll be slightly wet. In summer it can be refreshing tho. See more..

Discover the magic of the lake that attracts travellers from near and far. The current unique shape of the year did not emerge coincidentally. A tectonic hole made by the Bohinj glacier through the years, was once at the location of the present lake. Its path was obstructed by a huge rock which was so persistently scraped that the only thing that remained was the present island. The ice melted and the basin was filled with water, thus Lake Bled emerged, which is in some places up to 30 metres deep and quite popular amongst divers. 19 species of fish live in the lake, including carp, sheatfish and lake trout. Bled Island with the legend of its church bell, is literally the centerpiece of your visit to Lake Bled. We enjoyed photographing the island from every angle as we walked around the lake at different times of day and night. This time we took the pletna boat to the island from the dock near Vila Bled. The boatman picks you up for the return trip after 40 minutes, which isn’t enough time to see and do everything, including potica tasting at the cafe. We had to skip climbing the church tower so as not to miss the boat. Buying the ticket to go inside the church allows you to ring the wishing bell. It’s slightly cheaper to rent a rowboat, as we did on our first visit here 13 years ago. My then-teenager son rowed the boat and my husband carried me up the 99 steps. There’s also an electric ferry from town. The island is quite small and we were happy to be visiting during the off peak season in October. However you get there, a must-do experience in Bled! Firstly need to stay if you’re travelling here with the lake coming up on your right side then avoid the first car park which is paid, drive 3 minutes more and the car park to the back of the lake is free! The lake itself is beautiful, helped a lot by the amazing mountains behind. Quite crowded when we arrived at lunch time but still places to find quiet. We stored again on our way home around 6ish and that was perfect as it was much quieter and watching the sun set behind the mountains was amazing. I have recently travelled to lovely Ljubljana with my girlfriend for a weekend, as we wanted to go somewhere not too far from Switzerland by car and none of us had previously been to Slovenia. Being a regular in Prague I am used to seeing beautiful buildings and lovely tiny alleys, but Gornji Trg was really a lovely gem plenty of cafes, restaurants and interesting buildings. We wandered around for an entire weekend and every time we found something new we had not spotted before. I was also suprised by how well the buildings in the old town have been preserved and taken care of, we loved our time in the city and I recommend you to visit it if you have the chance. P.s: if it snows as in our case, mind yourself as some snowballs and blocks were falling on the street. See more..
