A good way to get to know the old city center
Much has been said about Ljubljana and especially about the special Old Town area. A good way to get to know the old city center is to walk along the river, suitable for all ages. Lots of cafes and restaurants. On the way, you will pass a number of famous bridges from which there is an amazing view of the river and the city. It is worth visiting both day and night, at night everything looks different, some would say more special. Do not miss.

Walk, eat or drink - it's very good!
The River Ljubljanica Canal is a versatile place to visit at different points in your day. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants with local and Mediterranean cuisine. Historical buildings and bridges pop up regularly on your way. Cool artisanal bars invite you to wrap up the day in style. It's a part of town I found myself revisiting regularly during my stay in Ljubljana.

Beauty flowing through the City
On one side of the canal, we enjoyed a lovely lunch along the water. On the other side we shopped in the marketplace. We crossed over the canal multiple times, on each of the bridges. It is a silent but pretty presence as you wander along both sides of it.
