A unique Holy Land site known as the hometown of Mary Magdalene, located at the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The archaeological site features a complete first century town from the times of Jesus. It is one of Israel´s most recent archaeological discoveries with the best preserved synagogue in the Galilee. Complementary tours of the site are available upon request. The site also features "Duc in Altum" a place for worship and prayer. Magdala is known as a crossroads of Jewish and Christian History, and will soon also feature a guesthouse in opening mid-2018. - 5.0 Bet She'an National Park (578 reviews)
-Very interesting
Friday: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM National Parks
We visited in the evening for She'an nights. We accidentally booked a Hebrew tour instead of an English tour and they were SO accommodating. Our guide, Asher, re-ran the movie part in English and then toured us privately in English through Bet She'an, while the other guide (I think Gadi) gave the Hebrew tour that Asher was supposed to do. What a wonderful experience. Educational and Interesting. We highly recommend putting this on your agenda. See more..
- 5.0 E.D.I. Travel - Day Tours (416 reviews)
-Excellent tour of Israel
Private Tours
46 members of our church went on a 10 day tour of Israel with EDI. There team took care of us from start to finish. Provided transportation to and from the airport. Helped us through customs, transportation and tour guides when we went to Jordan to see Petra. They customized the itinerary to meet our specific needs and desires to see certain sites. In addition they were flexible on the days that we needed to change our schedule around. Boaz our tour was great with excellent knowledge of all the different sites and history. And most of his jokes were even funny! See more..
- 5.0 Nimrod's Lookout (211 reviews)
-Very peaceful rest area
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The lookout is located at the edge of the village so it is very quiet and peaceful observation point dedicated to Nimrod and his fellow tank crew that were hit in the Lebanon II 2006 war. There are several benches in the sun or in the shade so it is a nice place to take a break for a picnic. This interesting part of the general Israeli local culture is about creating a place to visit and remember as well as something useful and lasting in memory of loved ones. There are a few adjacent parking spots on the same level as the lookout, otherwise, there might be a need to climb the road on foot. See more..

- 5.0 Travel with Andrew - Tour Guide (145 reviews)
-You’ll be happy if you choose Andrew
Friday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Historical & Heritage Tours • Walking Tours • Private Tours • Archaeology Tours • Day Trips
Andrew is one of the hardest working tour guides I’ve had. His passion for Akko is infectious. He’s obviously passionate about his subject and knowledgeable about a broad range of information. At the end of the tour you feel you’ve made a friend. The fact that he’s a local with native Arabic makes you feel that you’re being toured around someone’s home. All in all and excellent experience. The authentic and original features alongside the most modern and luxurious equipment offer an all-round experience. The bathhouse includes two floors of indulgence with the ground floor housing a large traditional seating area, steam room, massage table as well as separate changing areas, lockers, bathrooms and showers for men and women. The top floor includes a dry sauna, a Jacuzzi, warmed seating area, two massage beds and underfloor heating. See more..
- 4.5 Sea of Galilee (2.440 reviews)
-You can sail at sea with one of the boats that are shaped like those of 2000 years ago.
Bodies of Water • Religious Sites
If the weather is good, you can really enjoy a sea sail for about 45 minutes. We were a group of 40 people and we paid 10 USD / pers. On this sea (which is, in fact, a lake) Jesus would have accomplished one of his Miracles - he walked on the water! See more..

- 4.5 Church of Mount of Beatitudes (597 reviews)
-Interesting and challenging site for photography
Spent < 1 hour Churches & Cathedrals
We began our pilgrimage to Galilee here with an early morning visit. Traveling as a group meant that photography was a side activity, so my gear was a pocket camera. The features that were useful were wide-to telephoto zoom and HDR, the latter so useful due to the contrast under Israel's sunny skies. Missing was a strong ISO capability, needed in dark church interiors, often large where flash is both inappropriate and not functional. See more..
- 4.5 Capharnaum the Town of Jesus (560 reviews)
-A well maintained site, house of St. Peter, a town that Jesus once live in
Historic Sites
Walking into the site, there will be an elegant statue of St. Peter holding 2 keys and a shepperd pool, all the symbol of what task Jesus had given to him. Then, a avery eyecatching modern church built hovering on top of once St. Peter house remaining, where many healing miracle did by Jesus in this site as mentioned many times in the bible. It has a sacred aura, sense of tranquility as sun was setting as it came closer to closing time. A good place to pray for cure for somebody who had taken ill people said, so I did. Then take sometimes to take beautiful pictures in the remaining of the synagogue. Strolling on the way out of the complex, there will be several intriquing statues, where I found not enough time to learn about & explore further. It is an indeed good place to visit by the Galilean Sea. See more..
- 4.5 The Bahá’í Gardens 'Akko (547 reviews)
-Beautiful gardens but not much shade
Religious Sites • Gardens
Visited the Bahai Gardens atr the north end of Akko (Acre) on a Thursday morning. The gardens were open to the public but not the shrine and other buildings. The gardens are really beautiful and looked after very well - immaculately groomed and colourful. Unfortunately not much shade from the hot sun to just sit and enjoy the grounds. These gardens are nowhere as good as the gardens in Haifa but have easy access and parking facilities. And of course there is no entrance fee or need to book in advance. Open from Thursdays through to Sundays. Guided tours must be booked in advanced. See more..

- 4.5 The Old City of Safed (505 reviews)
-Narrow streets, blue doors and old stones...Worth our time
Points of Interest & Landmarks
One of the Old Cities to visit in Israel. If you like the atmosphere I'd recommend you do them in this order: Jerusalem comes first, then Akko, then Tsfat (Safed), Rosh Pina and some others. This Old City is not big, so you can walk all its narrow alleys in 2 or 3 hours and allow yourself to stop for an art gallery or a coffee, some food and of course the many unique and historical synagogues like Yosef Caro's. It is much more than it seems, try to find it. See more..
- 4.5 The Grottos at Rosh HaNiqra (477 reviews)
-Beautiful views
Geologic Formations
We stopped off here for the morning on a day with intermittent rain and everyone enjoyed it. The grottoes are covered so we were dry from the rain but the sea was rough so the water was harsh within the caves. The cable car was fun and the view from the top is amazing. A lot of fun and an interesting history as it is the border. See more..

The river is know because of Jesus's baptism. You can relive it paying a fee to be baptized in the river. Lovely view, there's a shop and the services. Cool!! See more..
- 4.5 St. Joseph's Church (360 reviews)
-Dedicated to the husband of Mary
Religious Sites
St Joseph Church is just a few minutes’ walk from the Church of the Annunciation. It is part of the Sanctuary of Nazareth that is administered by the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land. St. Joseph’s was completed in 1914 on top of the remains of earlier churches. The interior is simple and serene. There are three beautiful paintings depicting significant events: Joseph’s dream, the Holy Family with Jesus as a young boy, and the death of Joseph, lovingly surrounded by Jesus and Mary. Stairs in the church lead to the grotto below. The grotto is revered as the home of the Holy Family after they returned from Egypt and St Joseph’s workshop. Our guide explained that although Joseph is portrayed as a carpenter, he most likely worked with both wood and stone, since stone was a plentiful building material used locally. See more..
- 4.5 Church of the Multiplication (339 reviews)
-Miraculous Feeding
Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites • Religious Sites
The Church of the Multiplication, inaugurated in 1984 and overseen by the German Benedictine Order, commemorates the story of the miraculous feeding described in Matthew’s Gospel. With just five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus fed a crowd of 5000 men, plus women and children. Today’s church incorporates the same floor plan of a 5th century Byzantine church discovered during excavations. While the exterior church is austere in design, the pretty inner courtyard leads to a church interior that is light and colorful. Under the altar, a block of limestone found during excavation is venerated as the stone on which Jesus placed the bread and fish when He blessed them. The whole floor is covered in beautifully restored 5th century mosaics of birds and flowers that were also discovered during excavations. The most famous mosaic, located in front of the altar, shows a basket of loaves flanked by two fish. See more..
- 4.5 Rosh Hanikra (319 reviews)
-Natural beauty fused with international history
Geologic Formations
I have been to Rosh Hanikra multiple times, and I love it each time. This past visit was powerful. The storms and rain the day before necessitated closing some of the rear grottoes, but there was still so much to see. The waves were powerful that day, showing how these beautiful caves were carved out. The water color is amazing. The history of the railroad passing through these tunnels and the Jews blowing up the rails under the noses of the Brits to prevent a Lebanese attack is also worth the visit. There is a short film to see. The ride down the world's steepest cable car adds to the whole splendor. See more..

- 4.5 Banias Waterfall (282 reviews)
-Time your visit just after strong rain to see this remarkable Waterfall
Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Waterfalls
And then the sight will be amazing. We had exceptional precipitations in Israel this winter, and therefore the currents were exceptional as well. Kineret is filling again and all the rivers and "Nehalim" in the North are strong. More the reason to take your car on a weekend visit the Northern Natural Reserve. I would recommend buying the Matmon Card of the Israel Nature and Park Authority to get free access to your and your family all year long to all the Nature Reserves and National Parks. You'll get back your investment in 4 visits only and then you'll be able to come back as many times as you wish. Israel is not a big country but we have many amazing places to visit that change during the year, and Banyas is one of them. See more..
- 4.5 Mount Tabor (275 reviews)
-Takes Time to Visit!
Spent 2-3 hours Mountains
It takes time to visit here because we have to wait for small vans to go up the hill on a short drive, sometimes there are crowds and there is a wait. There is a majestic church with beautiful grounds, including ruins on one side and a wonderful view vista on the other. Everything closes just at dusk, we made it just in time to see the church before they shooed us out! See more..
