We met under the clock in the center of Jaffa and were divided into 2 groups of 20. From the beginning of our tour until its ending 2 and a half hours later Nicola captured her diverse multicultural, international audience. We travelled through the ages historically learning about the various leaders who ruled, their strategies and their fates. As we wandered through the old city we learned about architectural adaptations made for safety of those residing there. Our group increased in number as we meandered along the stoned streets. It was a positive learning experience and fun for all. See more..

    - An Aladdin’s den of amazing art.
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Architectural Buildings • Art Museums
    Ilana Goor Museum image
The Ilana Goor Museum, distinct in its dual purpose as both the gallery and private home of the artist, is a uniquely hidden gem in the old city of Jaffa. Housed in a historically rooted eighteenth-century structure, the museum allows visitors to see and feel the eclectic collection of famous Israeli sculptor Ilana Goor with Old Jaffa as a background storyline and setting. Within the walls of the beautifully-renovated structure lay over 500 artworks, both by Goor herself and by guest Israeli and international artists included in the museum collection. For the first time in Israel, you have the opportunity to admire works of art from the point of view of the artist/collector rather than as exhibits in a sterile academic environment. Despite the Museum's eclectic nature, each room features creations from different places and times. Each work of art has a different background and a story all its own. The Museum's uniqueness lies in the unexpected contexts generated by each artist, both on the human and on the visual level. See more..

There is a free walking tour every Saturday 11 am starting at 46 Rothschild St. sponsored by the Bauhaus Center. We walked alongside the Bauhaus Buildings around the Rothschild Street. The tour is FREE and is very rich in content - probably more than most paid tours - through the explanations of the guide Daniel Rosenblum. It is one of the highlights for understanding Tel Aviv and full of useful information for visitors: From the explanation of the German origins of the Name Rothschild over the Real Estate market of Tel Aviv on to sociological anecdotes. Highly recommended and exceptional as a free service for tourists! Best offer to spend your Sabbath - when Tel Aviv is basically closed - as secular foreigner. See more..

  29. 4.5 Ramat Gan National Park (290 reviews)
    - Amazing park in the center of Israel
    National Parks • Parks
    Ramat Gan National Park image
I visited this park many times during different seasons and it was a great experience every time. The park is green, has a lot of trees of different kinds, a huge territory that is cleaned and taken care of. Also lately there are vending machines in the park’s territory and a small coffee shop that’s open every day including Saturday. Often there are free musical performances on evenings and sometimes other activities, like yoga or dance club. There’s also a nature museum and a small shifting library at the park’s territory. In the winter, the park is specifically green and flourishing, while in the summertime it’s hotter and more crowded. I absolutely recommend this park to visit for couples, for a families and for solo travelers wishing to enjoy some nature and quiet in the very center of Israel! See more..
