  1. 5.0 Ramat HaNadiv (460 reviews)
    - It's a beautiful experience
    National Parks
    Ramat HaNadiv image
Free parking is plentiful. Entrance is free too. The security man at the gate asked if we had food with us. He politely said that picnicking was forbidden throughout the park. We respected this and found the park to be spotless. Even the modern toilets were immaculate. Smoking was also forbidden in the park while wearing masks was required throughout. This was all worth the effort as the park is spectacular and week days are recommended due to the huge influx of visitors on the weekend. See more..

This is a great acittivty because it is both really fun riding the segway, and and a fascinating history lesson about ancient Cesaria, as well as modern. Alon Hurvitz our guide was outstanding! Safety was priority one throughout the tour. He was knowledgable, interesting, friendly, and patient. He answered all questions, at each stop along the way in some depth, took a souvenir photo of each person, family or couple from a scenic lookout spot, and juggled Hebrew and English throughout. - Wonderful Roman Ruins
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours National Parks
    Caesarea National Park image
What a great site! Wonderful Roman ruins complete with mosaics, columns, amphitheaters, a chariot racetrack and more! Great story behind its construction by Herod. It was a deep-water port that was protected by manmade seawalls; an incredible work of vision and engineering at that time. It is well worth the visit. It's just a shame that it is so difficult to get to by public transportation. You can do it, just keep an eye on the schedule. There are a couple of buses that will bring you to the train station but each one runs on 1 or 2 hour intervals so you have to get the timing right. See more..
  10. 4.5 The German Colony (981 reviews)
    - Simultaneously historical and contemporary
    Neighborhoods • Historic Walking Areas
    The German Colony image
Wandering through this neighborhood provides a fascinating glimpse into the past, and yet is also a thriving, contemporary neighborhood. There are plenty of good restaurants, live music, and lively conversations wherever you go, making for an enjoyable outing. This neighborhood was settled by German Templers in the 19th century, and during their time, they introduced more consistent intercity transportation and mixed farming to the region. Even though many Templers were deported during WWII, the history and architecture remain. It's a pleasant place to go for a stroll and stop for a leisurely meal while admiring the beauty of the area. 11. 4.5 Louis Promenade (728 reviews)
    - Don’t miss this view
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Louis Promenade image
Ok..so ignore the thought in your head that says “the views are nice here so how much better can they be at the Louis promenade” because the views ARE better here and you don’t want to miss it. The reaction is “wow”…. Just watch people as they come up to it! So, yes, plan to go…we went at sunset and stayed and watched the twinkling lights come on over the water. Romantic. See more..

  13. 4.5 Theatre at Caesarea National Park (462 reviews)
    - Fantastically restored theatre
Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins • Theaters
Theatre at Caesarea National Park image
We parked in the car park at the south end of the National Park so the amphitheatre was the first part we saw. It certainly is impressive now it's been restored and is still used for performances now. I'm definitely in the sympathetic restoration camp rather than the English Heritage attitude of doing the minimum to keep ruins safe rather than showing how impressive they really were. The theatre area is surrounded by broken columns and ornamental stonework and it really is a spectacular site to walk around. See more..
  14. 4.5 Yefe Nof Street (450 reviews)
    - Take this, the path less traveled - but with the views that are so memorable and the architecture so fascinating.
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Yefe Nof Street image
Most people stop at the top of the Bahai Gardens, get out of their car/bus, take a few pictures and then leave. Let them!!! We spent a few hours SLOWLY wondering down the street. Stopping often looking at the views which are breath taking. Many of the building on the street have clear signs about the architecture and their history. this is NOT for everyone. This is for those who really want a deeper sense of Haifa and its people. If you want a quick taste and look to say you have been to Haifa, do NOT do this. If you want to explore and really get to know the city - this is a must. See more..

  17. 4.5 Dado Beach (352 reviews)
    - The Best Place to visit after Bahai Garden's
    Beaches
    Dado Beach image
I can't understand why TripAdvisor has this ranked where it is. It's clearly the best part of Haifa after the beautiful and unique Bahai Gardens. While the beach sand area is smaller, they've done a great job of building infrastructure (promenade, shade, grassy areas) for people who want to enjoy the scenery and not just tan. There are plenty of restaurants along the promenade, though none are that amazing. They do offer cold beer and decent snack foods, though I only order pita/hummus or babaganoush, not full meals when I visit. There are a lot of people from all walks of life. Young teens, old senior citizens, couples with families and everything in between. Parking is also free and the bathrooms are very clean for public beach restrooms. See more..
  18. 4.5 Carmel National Park (158 reviews)

    - You should make time for this site
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites
    Beit Shearim image
In 2015 this site was inscribed as a Unesco World Heritage site. I says it all! I planned to visit this site out of the children's vacation and it was the right decision as this site was not crowded at all making my visit even more enjoyable, I do recommend you try to do the same. I have attached several pictures, hoping to convince you to visit this site. See more..

    Zichron Yaakov Pedestrian Mall image

  22. 4.5 Caesarea Harbor National Park (117 reviews)
    - Well worth a visit
Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
    Caesarea Harbor National Park image
There are lots of things to see that are very interesting: the ruins of Herod's palace, hippodrome, theatre, old bathhouses, mosaics on the floor. I think it is well worth a visit, and is in a great setting by the sea. The entrance fee was reasonable compared to Israel prices and entrance fees in other countries to similar things. There are some information boards, but more would help, especially around the theatre area. There are restaurants and shops near the main entrance, it would be better if these were outside the entrance to the national park. See more..
  23. 4.5 Hecht Museum, University of Haifa (114 reviews)
    - Outstanding underrated museum
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Speciality Museums
Hecht Museum, University of Haifa image
This is a truly superb museum. It has one of the finest collections of archaeological specimens anywhere, but when we were there, there were only about 6-8 visitors in total. And it is free. Excellent display on development of written text. There are some unique specimens from underwater archaeology off the Caesarea,/ Haifa coast. And also a fine collection of pictures, Jewish art, impressionist and post impressionist. Easily the highlight of our visit to Haifa. See more..
  24. 4.5 En Afek Nature Reserve (105 reviews)
    - A lovely walk.
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
    En Afek Nature Reserve image
The En Afek Nature Reserve preserves swampland and waterway sources the majority of which have been lost in Israel. Along the swamp pathway in the Reserve, visitors "float" over a swamp surrounded by rich riverbank vegetation and colorful water birds. From the top of the ancient flour mill they can see views of the Akko valley, and in the Garden Shelter they can get an impression of rare plants from the coastal plain. See more..

  27. 4.5 Atlit Detainee Camp (76 reviews)
    - A very important place for the history of Israel
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Atlit Detainee Camp image
A must visit for every Israeli and not only! A very important part of the history of the Jewish people. It is recommended to arrange a tour in advance. The tour takes about an hour and a half. Not recommended in rainy weather as a large part of the museum is in the open air. See more..
  28. 4.5 First Aliyah Museum (73 reviews)
    - A proud walk through history
    Saturday: Speciality Museums
    First Aliyah Museum image
A visit to this Museum in Zichron Yaakov took us back to the hardships of early settlers arriving in Israel, the Biblical land of milk and honey. Years of hostility, swamps, malaria and disillusionment slowly flourished into a haven of grapes, wines, olive oil, citrus fruits and successful settlements. The museum tells this amazing story in a way that leaves tears in each visitor’s eyes, and a true feeling of pride and achievement. See more..
