- 5.0 Ayalon Institute Museum (478 reviews)
-Unexpected gem
Speciality Museums
Ayalon Institute's fascinating story is about a top secret operation which occurred between the end of the Second World War and Israel's independence (1945-1948). On Kibbutzim Hill, north of the city of Rehovot, under the vigilant eyes of the British who ruled the area, a clandestine bullet factory was built underground. The plant was code named " The Ayalon Institute" by members of the Haganah. The building and operation of the "Institute" was a co-operative effort by members of "Hatzofim Aleph" (a pioneer group) and people from the local Jewish clandestine military, who moved to Kibbutzim Hill.. Two shafts leading to the underground plant were disguised under a laundry room and a bakery. After the establishment of the State of Israel, the bullet making machines were moved to a centralized factory. Members of Hatzofim Aleph left Kibbutzim Hill and founded Kibbutz Ma'agan Micha'el in 1949. See more..

Saturday: Multi-day Tours • 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Walking Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Private Tours • Food Tours • Wine Tours & Tastings
Via Sabra put together such a unique and meaningful experience for our group. Having visited Israel multiple times, I was so impressed how they set up intimate experiences with businesses, families, leaders and organizations to get “inside” the themes we focused on and hear the real, lived experiences from people in their communities. Beyond the incredible itinerary, the logistics and details were flawless, down to dietary needs (gluten-free, allergies) and accommodating those in our group with mobility limitations so they could fully participate. A+. See more..

-Exceptional experience and extraordinary guide!
Sightseeing Tours
We had an amazing experience across Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Galilee and Nazareth with Rami as our guide. Rami is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and personable. He is a great conversationalist with a profoundly deep understanding of history, culture, and religion. I have been guided by Rami three times and I specifically choose Gold Carpet Tours and Rami. Food and souvenir recommendations are always a great experience as well. I completely trust GCT and Rami to ensure we get authentic experiences and souvenirs. NO up-sell tactics and no hidden fees!! Everything about this experience has been beyond perfection. Disclaimer-our group is all 45-50, good health and physically capable. We packed a lot in that would be difficult for older groups. However, GCT and Rami are experienced to develop an age/abilities appropriate experience. See more..

-Fun in the sun

This place is great for spending spare time with people, in the open air, with water activities, good food, coffee and snacks widely available nearby. Safe for children, the sea is nearby, a beautiful view of it from the boardwalk on a cliff above the sea. A great place to take the family for time out. See more..
- 4.5 Yes Planet (178 reviews)
-Nice movie theater complex and surrounding area
Game & Entertainment Centers
Very nice, large movie theater complex with plenty of parking. If you arrive early for the movie you're going to see, you can walk around the Rishon Lake (just behind the complex), which is very nice, or you can get a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants on location. The theaters themselves are nice, modern and clean, with comfortable seats. I'm generally not a fan of popcorn, but somehow the popcorn here tastes better than most -- it sort of melts in your mouth... In short, this is a nice place to come to see a movie. See more..

Tel Yavneh-Yam is also located within the national park. The park includes a beach for swimming, indigenous coastal flora and fauna, a huge embankment from the Canaanite city, a sea turtle farm, a visitor service center, chair rental, beach umbrellas for sale, shaded areas on a declared beach, picnic tables, lifeguards during the bathing season and first-aid services. For details regarding bathing times, visit our website. See more..
- 4.5 Yad la-Shiryon Latrun (148 reviews)
-Tanks Tanks Tanks!
Military Museums
This place is amazing for any military or armor buff; it's got so many tanks (and APC's) that they're literally parked all over the place. I would give it a solid 2 hours if you want to have a look at all the tanks, but allot at least that. They have more WW II tanks than you'd have guessed, modern tanks that were donated, and so on. Lots of one-off, improvised vehicles as well. We took a cab here and back from Jerusalem, which cost us about $35 each way, but totally worth it. there's a little room with tank models and a modest gift shop that could use an upgrade, but still nice. See more..

- 4.5 Latrun Monastery (71 reviews)
-Monastery Of Silence
Religious Sites
The Trapist monks are an order of monks who originated in France. They believe that "the spoken word" is holy and therefore should only be used for prayer or for minimum dialogue but not for idle conversation. They have taken oaths of silence except for those who need to stay in touch with the people around them. You can sit in the surrounding gardens for a light picnic, (no fires, Please!), or enter the monastery where you may enter the impressive church with its marble arches. At the gate to the monastery there is a shop where they sell excellent self-produced wines, Liqours, Brandy, Olive-oil, honey, olives, and a small selection of religious souvenirs. The wine-shop is not open on Sundays but you may still purchase wines from the gas-station at Latrun junction near the monastery. This is a great place for a detour from your set course See more..
- 4.5 Neot Kedumim Biblical Landscape Reserve (67 reviews)
-Great end to our trip
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Gardens
We visited Neot Kedumim with our tour group and absolutely loved it! The teens were able to pick olives and press them like in Biblical days. The group also had the opportunity to grind hyssop with a mortar and pestle to bring home. Our guide, Johanna, was fabulous! She knew her Bible and her enthusiasm was fantastic. We visited in January, the rainy season, although it didn't rain that day. See more..
- 4.5 Yaakov Agam Museum (63 reviews)
-Absolutely worth visiting if you are interested in contemporary art
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Art Museums
If you love contemporary art this is a must see museum of Agam’s art. When you are these pieces you see how so much of the pieces sold commercially don’t don’t do justice to his quality art. Be sure and bring your mobile device and headphones to download the app for explanations of the pieces. I don’t think I would have enjoyed the visit nearly as much without the guide to the art on their app. See more..

The Yarkon National Park was very green, as my family and I visited during the rainy season. It is very easy to get to from Hod HaSharon and Petah Tikva. The riverside park is both serene and natural. In the park you´ll find the Yarkon River and the ruins of Fort Antipatros and the Israel National Trail and train service pass nearby. My family will be going there again, especially in the Spring. See more..
