   Even though there's not much to see the locals have worked so hard to keep the sanctuary alive to help the suffering turtles. The experience was very moving and changed my life. I did a TED talk on it in Indonesia at a school and have been donating money to the aid since 2010 and from the earthquake I'm still trying to gather money to donate to help them. This area should be conserved and taken care of and they are important. They clean the beaches and only the tourists can fund their care. Because of my support for them I was even allowed to help and host the annual Sea Turtle release. This was an amazing experience and I very much recommend it. See more..

   Yes, it might not be properly maintained by the local government. But the historical place is not something you want to miss on your trip. It used to be the palace of Pangeran Suropati from Mataram. With the help of local guides, you will learn the parts of the palace. You will find where the prince had lived, the training ground for Mataram army, and also the mythical "fountain of youth" .... the priest would even let you drink from the fountain... The surrounding give you a sense of tranquility. However, the best time to go is on weekdays, especially on low season.    Pantai lawata merupakan pantai Tanpa tepian pasir, waktu air pasang panoramanya cukup indah, tapi karena cuaca Bima yang sangat panas jadi pantai ini kurang memiliki tempat untuk duduk bersantai, hanya ada beberapa gazebo yang tentunya kurang memadai jumlahnya apabila pengunjung lagi padat.
