   Highly recommended! First, this company doesn’t exploit guides like the other agencies do. Secondly, it’s súper affordable and you can take your time going up the volcano at your pace, taking breaks when you need (I’m super fit and it was challenging, esp with the altitude), and the guide was Catalino’s son, Warner, who was so knowledgeable and easy going. We had a spectacular view at base camp (very high up) and opted not to go to the peak but that can be lovely too (a very hard addition but moderately more you can see from there, if the view isn’t obscured by clouds). Also, it was pouring rain at the beginning and Catalino had us hang out at his house until it passed. Such a benefit! Finally, I did leave my phone on the mountain and Catalino made sure I got it back. Unreal! I can’t speak highly enough about this agency. Book with them! (Hike is INCREDIBLE). See more..

   Our trip to this site was unforgettable. Our tour guide Melvin was so knowledgeable, kind, funny, and proud of his culture. All this shined from him and as a result it was truly a potent experience to learn about Iximche from him. Our tour guide for Guatemala, Diego Leal (whom is an incredible guide in his own right, having provided us with safe and comfortable, knowledgeable and wise, and a beautiful tour of Guatemala City, Antigua, and Panahachel), worked seamlessly with Melvin to create a wonderful and moving experience for us.
