We spent 4 days in total with the guys from Pyramids diving Center doing a open water course and an advanced open water course. Our advantage was that we stayed in the hotel where they are located. So we went straight in the sea :) Open water course Instructor Ehmad was very Patient and did a great job. Especially under water my travel buddy felt very safe. At first I did a refresher Training of the open water course and this was the best that could have happend. With Amr I had a very expierienced and professional instructor who did an exceptional job under and above the water.he takes his job seriously which makes me feel save and comfortable. I added the Advanced course spontanously as I saw the professionalism Amr was teaching with. I also took the day dive trip to Tiran Island which is a MUST!!! 3 totally Different dive sites but all incredible. Orange Bay is a very paradisiac beach, beatiful water, so many colors of blue. When you get there, there is lots of tents for the tourists, but by the time we were there (around 1PM) there werent many peopple around, which made the visit very pleasant. But I suppose (by the number of tents available) it can get crowded. Anyways it is a must see in Urghada, so much more beautiful than Urghada beaches (which are beautiful). We didn’t dive the Blue Hole for clarity, few people do, but El Bells which exits via the Blue Hole is utterly spectacular. I snorkelled this area in September 2013 and if done at the right time its totally amazing... There is literally no current due to it being a sheltered bay and early in the morning offers great light conditions for photography... Its also quiet in the morning without all the boats so getting some alone time with the turtles is great...but be aware the salt content is very high and if you get a mouthful you will really gag The visibility at low tide is awesome but once the tide comes in it brings with it fine sand compromising the visibility and making photographing very difficult. Tip: Be very careful when standing around in the shallows especially around late afternoon as the sun goes down as there are many stone/scorpion fish lurking around! See more..

Abu Tig has plenty of great apartments to rent: often much more affordable than the big hotels, then you can be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out (rather than the same old buffet!) The site seems to come directly from a Disney movie. Of course you cannot expect to be granted to see dolfins, this is the open sea, not a zoo. But the boat guys know very well the animals and their habits and they did everything to allow us seeing them. We waited 20 min, but when they spotted the fins, they let us jump in the water and a group of 15 dolfins swam right next to us! Despite the tourist flow in the site, a lot of attention is put in not disturbing the animals and respect their space (when they sleep for example) and this is also part of the reason why you don't always manage to see them. But the probability is very high . If you do diving, having a dive through the underwater caves and coral reef pinnacles is also worth the visit alone See more..

It was in our do list with my late brother to clim this mountine and fill the energy of biblical site. And I made a promise to myself that I will be doing this and will dedicate to the memory of my brother. With my son we clim the mountain yesterday night, guided by bedouin guide Ahmad who was very kind person with huge faith. We started at 1am and by the time we reached the top was almost 4.30pm, just about sunrise to start. I can't explain the energy of this place, you have to feel it , It's out of this world. Such a powerful place to be. To reach to the top also wasn't that easy, but we did it ... After a week in St Johns area we were coming back to POrt Ghalid and stopped of at Elphinstone.. 2 Dives , nothing too deep, 30m max.. Came back up to around 10m and had our first very close, 1m close, encounter with a White Tipped Shark, 5 minutes later a Whale Shark gently glided by.. We were all ecstatic when arriving back on the boat. Went back for a second dive, only went down to arouind 12m and the same thing, Lonimanus followd by a whale shark.. Our dive guide told us that that was the 1st time in 13 years of diving that she had done 2 dives in succession and saw both types of shark on the same dive. It was exceptional See more..
