   You should visit the cave either with an organized group or make serious previous research before going there individually. And for sure you have take jeep or pickup. Why. Google.maps, Here maps and other navigation services (the satellite images) show that the distance to the cave is around 30 km through the desert from Cairo - Asiut highway. The images show that there are several quite nice unpaved roads leading to the destination. In reality a new road has been built, which is not visible on older images, and which is suitable for pickups as a minimum. The access to older roads from the highway has been cut, and they are not used any more - one of them was barely visible on the ground. Starting with 5 km from the highway the GSM stop working and later even GPS signal disappears. As a result we had to stop some 6 km from the cave, because the road became too bad for our rented car and we were not entirely sure how to reach it. I will definitely come back, but with a jeep/pickup and with somebody who knows the place. See more..

   Amazing, breathtaking and simply majestic site. The pyramid is still in tact, the shear volume and how tall the pyramid stands is simply impressive. There is not a lot to see but the visit is worth doing. See more..
