  1. 5.0 Wadi Halfayn (1 review)
    - Wadi Quri or Halfayn - a brilliant Wadi for self exploration
    Hiking Trails
After reading some independent reviews, we set out to search for this Wadi. Following the Nizwa road from Muscat and about an hours drive the signpost is for Al Afia. Leaving the main road and driving into the village you can head almost to the end where you can safely leave your car. On the left hand side you will see the Falaj system (method of bringing water down to crops and villages) This walk basically follows the route of the falaj. To start, you will need to cross on the falaj which is about 8m high and 10m across. If you are giddy with heights this is the first challenge. If you have decent gripped footwear it is possible to walk in the water which makes the crossing easier. Once across you simply follow the water system, It is not always possible to walk on it and over the years fallen rocks etc push you to discover your own routes round which is what makes this walk a bit of an adventure. Eventually you will discover a stunning rock pool which is great to swim in. The whole valley is beautifully picturesque and the walk from the car and back if you only go onto the pool is a good couple of hours. You can continue further up into the valley and make the trip as long as you want it to be. We found good independent accounts of this walk online however couldn't find it on trip advisor hence this review. Search for Wadi Quri too as this was the name by which we found it. See more..
