We have been here twice and last time we did the "Imperial Experience" with some very good friends. Really professional, really interesting, a trip we would recommend everyone to take. To be able to see the whole process from the sugar cane fields to the bottles being filled, with the aging in the barrels, the introduction to rum tasting, learning to see the colors, the smell and the taste of the premium rums from Barceló, the museum with old artifacts and last but not least, our super friendly and cool guide, Luis de los Santos, is something you shouldn't miss when coming to Dominican Republic! Without a shadow of a doubt this is relatively new course has the best greens in the DR and also the best fairways..far superior than any course at Casa de Campo. The reasons are that they have the best grasses on the fairways and the tees ,what is called couch grass in the southern hemisphere.There are now many different varieties but the best couch grasses are on the famous Melbourne sandbelt course including Royal Melbourne .Oceans 4 has found a very good variety and it has spread all over the course giving wonderful lies . It can invade greens however. So with all the rain recently in the DR it was near impossible to get a bad lie at Oceans 4 . It has a great layout with water on the second and third holes that is easily avoided. I rate the course far better than Teeth of The Dog which owes its ranking to the ocean views . See more..

We were looking for something to do in our La Romana cruise port and decided on the caves. Went out of the terminals to get a taxi. We teamed up with a group of 3 others and got a driver that spoke English (but can't remember his name) to drive the 5 of us to the caves. He waited while we did the tour and drove us all back for $20 each. It costs $10 each for the tour and we were inside for probably close to an hour. It's one of the largest volume caves I've been in. The Ocean Diving office at my Hotel, Emotions by Hodelpa, is staffed by friendly knowledgeable people who get your dives or snorkelling dates set up. Giovanni picks you up at 8:30 in the morning for the quick drive to Boca Chica, and their dive center. There you are greeted by the owner, Luca, Katie, and the dive masters, Daria and Alfonzo, and all the attentive support staff. All equipment is personalized for each diver, and great care is taken to make sure that all correct procedures and safety requirements are followed properly. They have many different dive sites, so all expectations are fulfilled. The dive boat is a very large well equipped Zodiac, not an old broken down boat as so many other places use. In my one week there, I dove 6 times,, and was never disappointed, the only disappointment was having to say goodbye. From beginner to expert diver, they accomodate every level of expertise. We found this tiny diving centre while walking on Juan Dolio beach. My partner (experienced diver) took the opportunity and Rony (local diving instructor) organized very flexibly fishing dive for him, which he enjoyed a lot. We made also one family dive with these guys when our kids could test diving equipment for the first time as well as see the under-water beauties at the nearby coral reef. Mi rincón de desconexión.
Es una playa muy pequeña y difícil de encontrar. El camino es de tierra pero es excelente para disfrutarlo con una moto de cross: Cuenta con diferentes caminos algunos de ellos muy salvajes en los cuales se debe tener cuidado para no perderse, sobretodo si vas solo o no eres local.
A esta playa solo van turistas en buggies que hacen una parada allí por poco tiempo o gente local que va en grupo.
