  1. 5.0 Playa Blanca (12 reviews)
    - Beyond beauty
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Playa Blanca image
One of the most beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic! Almost hidden in the Ocoa Bay. To get there you have to pass Monte Rio beach drive about two minutes, turn right, leave your vehicle and take the Playa Blanca trail because there is no road getting close to it. The trail may be tricky and is about 5 minutes walk that older and people with disabilities may want to skip but it is nice. And the reward is a virgin beach. There is no services, neither vendors, music or restaurants that is because you need to plan in advance what you need to bring. Waves are mostly calm and you will find some seaweeds and trash and shoes are optional. Either way, is worth it to spend half day here in relaxation. Highly recommended. See more..

This is an amazing attraction. Is said to have medicinal properties. The water is between 40 and 50 degrees Celsius (about 104 to 122 Fahrenheit). To get this place you must drive to the ville of Rancheria, then head to the mountains by a dirt road and can be aproached with a regular car, then you must walk withing a kilometer to the hot springs. - Wild beauty
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
    La Caobita Beach image
This beach is almost virgin. There are people coming to clean often. During Holy Week there will be a lot of people and vendors, but most times there will be anyone. There is no noise, no music and no waves. The reef prevents the waves to hits you making the beach a natural pool. There are some areas were is deep, but is mostly just shallow turquoise waters with little fish swimming around and white sands. Yet if this is not enough, there are some keys with dense mangrove forest in front of the beach. See more..

Yet the tranquil surroundings, low waves and the beautiful Ocoa Bay view, this is a nice place to spend the day. There are just two gazebos next to the beach and the closest restrooms are located across the street in the nearby businesses. The access road is not smooth but available for cars. Nice experience. Playa Monte Rio image
This is a very nice dark sand beach. It is safe and served by several bed and breakfast and local restaurants. Monte Rio is the closest for Azua's local beachgoers. The seafood is found fresh around because local fishermen serve the area. There are some little rocks in some of the beach locations and some mud can be found after Sandy Storm between the coastline and the restaurants. Tides tend to be low, and wind gust can be a little bit annoying during some early nights. See more..
