The park had a under counstruction hotel which was kind of disappointing and the locals were really rude not even lining up and they had a shortage of staff. However, I am not reviewing people, I am reviewing this attraction. Overall, the park is a 4 because it's free amusement park got a little out of hand but still the cave was magnificent. 6,660 steps to the top - we entered the annual race on 5 September this year along with over 7,000 others as we were already there paddling a Dragonboat for Australia on Lake Dong Ping the day before. It is not the easiest of climbs to the top but if you are fit you will manage the 7.5klm hike.

There are of course the options to walk 5klm and then take the cable car or to take the bus and then the cable car. Whatever option there will still be a distance to walk.

Well worth the trek as we passed beautiful scenery and temples along the way, and no need to carry provisions as there are little kiosks dotted along the way, but be prepared to pay about 10 times over the odds!

Simply put, it was exhausting. However, after I reached the top of the mountain I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment! After 5 hours of walking I reached the top and made a wish. If it comes true then I guess I'll be returning! Just 70KM south of Jinan City, it's worth the day to climb. After, treat yourself to a nice massage. Your legs will thank you. For the individuals who do not want to climb 1545 meters, there is a gondola that runs up and down. RMB100/person each way. Also, don't be fooled into carrying lots of water with you. It's too heavy and you can buy it along the way. Wear a good pair of shoes--I wore Sperry Topsiders thinking it wouldn't be an issue. It was tough, but I survived. Happy climbing! See more..

Driving up and arriving at the Great Wall is nothing but breathtaking. It is a huge steep climb with only the fittest being able to ascend to the third or fourth stop. Also known as Peach Blossom Valley this is a fine landscape of rocks, streams and trees - and of course the peach blossom. Forget about the buses - put on your hiking boots and walk the 7 or so kilometers to the cable car and then ride up. You can take a taxi from Tai'an and take the K16 bus back. You can also just wander about in the valley or have a picnic. During the week it is very quiet though it can get busy at the weekend. See more..

Taishan can be translated as Peace Mountain or Tranquil Mountain but your timing could determine the level of peace or tranquility. Go off-season or the huge crowds can ruin the climb. The Canadian rock band, Rush, recorded a song called Taishan, years ago, and fans are still debating its merits. Band members say it's corny. It goes, in part, like this: "High on the sacred mountain . Up the seven thousand stairs  In the golden light of autumn . There was magic in the air. Clouds surrounded the summit . The wind blew strong and cold.  Among the silent temples . And the writing carved in gold . Somewhere in my instincts . The primitive took hold…  I stood at the top of the mountain . And China sang to me  ..." I climbed Taishan during Golden Week. Big mistake! The crowds of visitors and the garbage they left behind ruined the trip so, sad to say, China did not sing to me. 泰山登山线路有三条，红门天外村两条路线在中天门汇合，算作一条，还有桃花峪和后石坞两条。后石坞这条路开发的轻，路窄，自然风光保留的好，盛夏时节树木郁郁葱葱，甚至让人怀疑这是南方才有的山间美景，但美中不足的是这线路没什么人文景点，想来泰山烧香拜佛的朋友还是选择走中天门比较好。 See more..

Very close (about five minutes) to the cableway station and all the hotels and restaurants on the main plateau. Offers nice views to the south (Tai’an) and west. - One of the best temples I visited in China

I'll keep it short. I have definitely not visited all temples in China, but certainly more than a handful. Of all these, Daimiao is the dearest to me. It is quite big, not so crowded (except for holidays and weekends), it has terrific halls and architecture (check out the mural in the main hall), a lovely garden but most of all, it has a wonderful atmosphere and feel to it. Let the busy city life drop away and just sit here for a while. You'll love it. See more..

A beautiful, quiet relatively undeveloped mountain offering quiet respite from the noisy urban areas. A restaurant is located at the beginning of the mountain trail and there is also some limited car parking space there too. You can hike up the trail in less than an hour. Signs discourage going any further but there's plenty of rocks, streams and slopes to keep the novice hiker busy without being to taxing. See more..
