   I'm sure there's some reason why so many temples are on top of mountains. This is no exception; so, expect to do some hiking. On the day of my hike up the mountain, there were some new temple facilities under construction, but much of the existing complex was accessible. What was most striking for me was the plethora of wildflowers growing in various places, which made the hike more pleasant. Overall, it's a peaceful hike and good for taking pictures. See more..

   This is also listed as Guomen Tourist Area and boasts being a senic area. Access from the main road shows an area not well maintained. There's a roundabout with a statue in the middle that is overgrown with weeds and in disrepair. From there you go to the "senic area" which is near the border park (that is closed to laowais, except maybe Russians). The "senic area" is mostly overgrown and there isn't much else to see. There's a large building nearby where you can buy Russian goods like those you can buy in other parts of northeastern China. See more..

   I stopped here because it was on Tripadvisor's list of things to do, but there were no photos or reviews. This is essentially a local history museum of sorts where the railroad and the Communist Party feature prominently. The text of the displays is mainly in Chinese with some occasional Russian. The building itself is interesting with hallways running in a square along the inside away from the outside with the rooms all connected to the hallways and (where there are windows) looking out to the exterior.    Unless you are Chinese, don't plan on seeing this attraction. Laowais (worthless foreign dogs) are not allowed entry. The closest you can get is to the gate entrance to the surrounding park. What is open to foreigners is the Guomen Senic Area (disapoointing, to say the least) and a large building with shops selling Russian goods that I can just as easily buy in Harbin. See more..

   I was on my way to Vladivostok and wanted to cross the border by bus. Unfortunately the saleslady at the ticket office refuse to sell me a bus ticket because according to her, I did not have a visa in my passport. But as a South African, we do not need any visas to enter Russia. She was very rude and even threw my passport to the other side of the counter and refused to listen to me. When a Chinese woman tried to explain to her my situation, she told her that I should speak Chinese or Russian, and not any English to her.    I found this quite by accident as I was walking from the walking street to this huge square surrounded by shopping buildings. I ducked into this covered area with shops that led to another street. Not much to see here; focus on what's in the huge plaza, which is what should be on Tripadvisor's list instead of this. See more..

    綏芬河博物館は、綏芬河の繁華街である龍須溝歩行街と新興街との交差点から徒歩15分、北海公園の北のほとりに佇んでいます。綏芬河駅からはタクシーで10分弱。入場料は無料です。
    博物館は2階建てとなっており、1階は綏芬河の、2階は抗日闘争の、それぞれの歴史が展示されています。綏芬河にとって東清鉄道の影響は大きく、東清鉄道の前後で街が変容したことが博物館の展示で良く分かります。
    小さな博物館ですので30分程度で見学可能です。綏芬河駅で待ち時間があるのであれば、訪問することをお薦めします。 See more..
