- 4.5 Ningbo Museum (131 reviews)
-Modern architecture built from ancient material
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Speciality Museums
Most recent Chinese architectures are designed by Western architects using shinning and sleek material. This museum is build by discarded tiles, bricks, and enameled pieces designed by native Chinese Architect Wang Shu whom won Pritzker Architecture Prize 2012 for it. It reflect the Chinese spirit of frugality and sustainability and its aesthetic are enhanced by these virtue. The collection is heavy on the sea route of Chinese Silk Route, and the top floor of old Ningbo lifestyle are great for children. A important modern architecture accomplishment to see. Joyce Sin. - 4.5 Tiantong Temple (88 reviews)
-Temple
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM Spent 2-3 hours Ancient Ruins • Religious Sites
It’s located pretty far away from the city. During winter vacations there are not a lot of tourists, so you can enjoy the scenery and atmosphere. There is the certain time when visitors can eat at the monk’s canteen: the breakfast from 6:30-7:30, the lunch time at 12 and the dinner from 16- 17. Monks are cool See more..

Wednesday: 7:26 AM - 4:33 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
Took bus 938 from Ningbo railway station and got off at the final stop. According to the bus driver the last bus back to Ningbo leaves around 5pm. Entrance was 50RMB and an additional 60 RMB to walk on the glass bridge. The waterfalls and glass bridge are absolutely worth it, but be aware that there are many steps to climb. See more..

Avery pretty temple on th eoutskirts of Ningbo. Emperor Ashoka from India is supposed ot have built it... This temple has parts of Buddhas skull there.. The viewing is open till 4 pm daly. However, we reached there at 4.15 and the place had shut down. Our Chinese friends requested the monks that we, from India, have come to see..and he whole whole heartedly agreed to open the place for us...A great gesture... Not only he opened the place but did a prayer and burnt incense sticks too.. A very very heart touching experience. See more..

-A rare find
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Religious Sites
The architecture is magnificent; rare timber structures. As one who has built his own timber frame house the beauty here made me feel more than a bit incompetent. At the grounds are lovely as well. The government has been putting effort into enhancing the temple and the access road. Worth a bus trip from Ningbo! See more..

- 4.5 Southern Song Stone Park (11 reviews)
-It's a big park
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Parks
Big area covered with huge number of very nice plants, trees, ponds and typical Chinese bridges. I went through this park looking for something I've thought is there. Unfortunately that was not the place I was looking for. However, my disappointment was not as big as I thought it could be. All because of this piece of natural beauty. Even weather didn't cooperate. That was a rainy day, my umbrella was leaking after hours in the rain. I was alone in the park, but happy to see so many nice plants. You can spend hours there. I recommend this place. It will be better if there is no rain! RomanP See more..
- 4.5 Ningbo Tiangong Manor (10 reviews)
-Tiangong Farmstead - a Must See in Ningbo
Wednesday: 7:26 AM - 4:33 PM Farms
Paid 120 rmb for two people for a day visit. Inside the area is a beautiful presentation of various types of plants and flowers of all sorts. There’s also a very old carnival area where there are some extremely rusted rides including bumper cards in a small roller coaster. These can be ridden for about 20 rmb each. However this is not the highlight of the place. The inside atrium area where all of the plants is amazing presentation and well done. There are clean toilets, and a few snack areas where you can get a drink during a hot day. If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, look at a variety of plants, and not feel rushed this is the place for you. It’s great for kids to because they can see all of these plants including cactus and other non-indigenous species. See more..

- 4.0 Ningbo Zoo (60 reviews)
-Quite impressed!
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Zoos
We went here on a drizzly Saturday. It was a bit more expensive than we thought it would be, 130 RMB for an adult, 70 for a child. However, a year pass is only 400 for adults and 200 for children. Anyway, once we got inside and saw the quality and health of the animals, we thought it was definitely worth it. Many animals had a great habitat. Maybe 20% of the animals had less than desirable conditions, but most were good. We were impressed by the number of animals, too. Six tigers, six lions, at least that many black bears, etc, so it's easy to see the animals and you can get relatively close to them. Going there, don't be confused - there is an old Ningbo Zoo downtown - this is the Ningbo Youngor Zoo 宁波雅戈尔动物园 east of town. See more..

- 4.0 Seven-pagoda Temple (34 reviews)
-An Oasis of Tranquility in a Hustle and Bustle of the City
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Ancient Ruins • Religious Sites
Ningbo Qita Si, or Seven Pagodas Temple is one of the most peaceful places I've been to. It is a real Buddhist temple with nothing commercial (just a nominal charge for entrance ticket), not like in main cities in China. Tranquil atmosphere and real Buddhist monks here and there. If you want to take a rest from the crowded city, the Seven Pagodas Temple is one of the best places to visit in Ningbo. Next to the temple you can find shops selling Buddhist's attributes. Although, there is no food selling inside the temple, you can easily find a place to eat near the Temple. See more..
- 4.0 Jiangbei Catholic Church (31 reviews)
-Interesting European influence in heart of Ningbo
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM Religious Sites
This is a lovely Catholic Church in the heart of Ningbo, just at the point where the three rivers converge. We found it a beautiful and peaceful spot at the end of the ‘party zone’ called the Ningbo new Bund. The church is now refurbished and looks lovely. The outside is architecturally interesting give this is a ‘cultural misfit’ in a China. It only takes 10 mins to walk there across Xinjiang Bridge and takes 30 mins to appreciate. Worth a quick visit. See more..

Wednesday: 6:00 AM - 5:02 PM Mountains • Points of Interest & Landmarks
Take the 541 bus from railway station until the last terminal (around 1 hour) you will arrive at this small park at the east end of Zhenhai District. Walking to the top of the hill you will find Buddhist temple and pagoda where you can enjoy 360 view of the bay and towards the city. This is also the site where the Chinese navy defend their position during Battle of Zhenhai (Sino-French War), with dedicated war museum down the hill. Just nice for a stroll when you have some time to kill. Standard ticket price is a pricey 60RMB, so bring student card for discount. See more..
- 4.0 Qing'an Hall (13 reviews)
-A little gem
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Ancient Ruins
We stumbled across Qing’an and thought ‘what the heck let’s have a look’ as it was only 10RMB per person. Best 10RBM spent ever as this is a really interesting historical site and museum focused on the maritime history of this part of China. The Hall is an old association building of lovely Chinese architecture. The focus is on boats and there is lots of clever boat models depicting traditional boating styles. But if this is not your gig, the building is beautiful and has a number of interesting courtyards and assembly rooms. It will take no more than and hour and I would highly recommend. See more..

- 4.0 Ningbo Mosque (12 reviews)
-Hard to Believe
Wednesday: 6:57 AM - 6:57 PM Religious Sites
When I reached the Mosque it was kind of Hard to believe, Just behind Big Buildings, busy streets, modern neighbourhood, on a small street lies a small place for Muslims to offer their prayers. When you look at the structure which is still intact and looks pretty attractive and when you come to know that this small piece of building (made of wood) is 300 years old, you are pleasently surprised. This is also an indication that Muslims of Ningbo have succeessfuly existed amongst a non-muslim majority in a peaceful manner for centuries. Me and my friends were pleasently welcomed by smiling faces (As it was occassion of Eid too a day after) and it was very hartening to know that Muslims are existing in this part of the world for Centuries. See more..
- 3.5 Tianfeng Pagoda (48 reviews)
-Get your bearings in Ningbo city centre
Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Ancient Ruins • Architectural Buildings • Observation Decks & Towers
The TianFeng Tower lies at the back entrance to the ChengHuang Temple. Cross a small alley and you will see the ticket office (5元 for entrance). The tower is surrounded by a small garden scattered with a few trees and benches. There are several narrow staircases to the top, they seem to be narrower the higher you get. The top floor is pretty small and the balcony has been sealed off. The view is nothing spectacular but if your new in the area take a look around and get your bearings. The roofs of the nearby buildings are all very traditional and look nice from above. Getting to the tower is easy, its in the centre of Ningbo. Get a bus to KaiMing Jie (开明街) or XianXue Jie (县学街) then head towards the Chenghuan Temple (across the road from MacDonalds). The tower is next to the temple. See more..
