   Great collection of fossils and some lovely bronze age horses! There is an entire room dedicated to just pottery from pre-bronze age which was a bit repetitive for me but to each their own! The fossil/dinosaur rooms were great with good mix of English signs. There are entire rooms made up to look like some of the great sights of the silk roads which was different! But fun. Entrance was tricky as the tickets are only available through their Chinese only app and they were quite rude about allowing me entrance dispute my various green codes and recent NAT negative result so be warned!    This park is really nice. Plenty of shade, places to eat and views of the river. You also get to witness how the water wheels irrigated the local area. On the day I visited, by continuing further down the river, there was some really interesting music being played by numerous bands. Well worth a walk. See more..

   Going to this park was one of my favorite things we did while in China. When we drove up we could see 40-50 locals doing dance in a big courtyard. As we walked on, we saw older people playing hacky sack, badmitton, singing as a group and playing instruments. It was so nice to get to see so many local people. They were very interested in our daughter (we were 2 Americans-there adopting our daughter) but also very, very nice. The zoo in this park is pathetic though-totally not something you would ever see in the U.S.-concrete slabs with animals on them. There is also a monastary in the park which we enjoyed seeing as well. It is just a beautiful, picturesque area. We loved it! The bathroom facilities were one of the worst we saw in China....so definitely be prepared for that. Squatty potties do not put me off but, after taking one look at the bathroom here I decided I could hold it. :) See more..

    The Yellow River is considered the mother of China and here in Binhe Park along the south shore of the river is a statue representing the river mother. There are also other Lanzhou attractions in the park, such as the water wheels and the iron bridge. The park itself makes for a nice stroll along the Yellow River and is popular with the locals. However, keep in mind that the river's water levels sometimes rise to the point where parts of the park become inaccessible (as during my first visit in August 2020). See more..

    This is a special area in Lanzhou, not only for westerns but also for locals. You can find different stores for shopping and restaurants and/or cafes for eating local tyical food or something different, like pizza at Pizza Hut. Definetely one of my favorite areas in the city.     Visited this park with friends. We took bus #18 from XiGuanShiZi. It took almost an hour to arrive at the park. You need to walk a little way from the bus stop. No entrance fee. Boardwalks over the marshlands along the Yellow River. Beautiful & shaded. There were lots of flowers as well. It is a very large park, we didn't see it all. I will definitely visit again.     The photos that have been uploaded to this listing are of the temple located in Baitashan Park, about mid way from the street entrance to the park to the White Pagoda Temple. In fact, the "Baiyun Taoist Temple" isn't on any map either, as it's universally known as the White Cloud Temple. If you can figure all that out from this poor listing by TripAdvisor, the white cloud temple is a must see in Lanzhou without a doubt. It's free to visit and is a fully functioning, working temple, with services and worshippers at all times of the day. The clouds of incense smoke might be where it gets it's name from.     This is a very nice park to relax with local people. In the mornings you can listen to elderly people singing old folk songs, in the evenings many people are here taking a stroll. There are often performances happening. The park is centered around a small lake. There are paved paths and boardwalks over the water.     This very new museum is very attractive . The historical exhibition is very rich . It contains a lot of items found in various tombs in Gansu Province . The most important is the wonderful "Flying horse" , a little bronze statue representing a galloping horse with a swallow under its hoof . There is also a paleological section with some dinosaurs skeletons . The most remarkable is the "Mamenkisaurus" , a very huge sauropod of 100 million years ago . See more..

    Lanzhou's Xiaoxihu Park is pretty much a typical Chinese park, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth the time. If you in the Qilihe District of Lanzhou, it's not hard to get to - Bus 139 goes straight to the entrance. Summer time and the Spring Festival are the best time to go - Summer time for the plants, and the Spring Festival for the lights. The Flying Horse of Wuwei sits at the entrance of the park. The lake itself is just average, but there are a couple of cafes and there is a small amusement park inside. There are not a lot of people in the park most of the time, so it is pretty peaceful.     Found this park just doing a random scan of my map app. Took a taxi to get here. 5RMB entrance fee. On a hill to the northwest of Lanzhou. Lots of trees, so shady & cool. There are some pavilions, shaded walkways and a small temple. At the top is a memorial of some kind. Great views of the city and a nice, shady area with some exercise equipment. Whatever fruit is growing on the trees is edible because I saw an older gentleman collecting in. I didn't try any myself. A very nice little park, well worth the 5 RMB fee.     This Mother & Child granite sculpture is another iconic symbol of Lanzhou. Our driver was adamant that we should at least visit the park and see it. We were glad we did as it was a beautiful piece and truly a symbol of the Chinese people’s persevering spirit.
