   秀洲公园南边是中山西路，北面江南摩尔。晚上夜景还蛮不错的，2021年大改造后原来江南摩尔虫虫乐园的摩天轮被拆除，搬到秀洲公园里小湖的北岸，升级为炫酷无轴摩天轮，高49米，转一圈13分14秒。公园内的步行道特别软有弹性，南边是市图书馆秀洲区分馆，东南角有个驿站，里面可以看书学习借雨伞、拐杖支架等，有带母婴室的卫生间以及AED、微波炉、自动售卖机等便民设施。北面摩天轮附近有地下停车场。 See more..

   We took a day tour from Shanghai to Xitang Water Town and the Button Museum was one of the museums included in our admission. The museum contains more than a thousand buttons from different eras. You could tell which ones were made for the wealthy, just by the material (some jade) they were made from. There were also belt hooks and buckles, as well as machinery that was used when buttons were made by hand, and not plastic like today. Signage for the machines is not in English, but you can figure out how the machines were used. See more..

    The museum is a huge, fine-looking structure that is free to enter (security personnel check bags at the door). It's a popular pilgrimage site for Communist party members, military personnel, and people interested in the history of the party and the revolution that saw it come into power. Four or five floors of exhibits include tons of real artifacts of the era along with all kinds of paintings, sculptures, models, photos, video, text, and displays large and small. There's the usual gift shop within and a separate concession area, which wasn't open on the slow, cold day we visited. Shanghai visitors can hire a cab for the day (at reasonable price) to take them to nearby Jiaxing attractions. Though, leave early and return early to beat the traffic. See more..

    I really liked this place, a bit out of the way and buses full of old people shouting and kids running riot but just walk slowly and enjoy the peaceful moments when they are out of earshot. My trip started well when I explained in my broken Chinese to the lady at the front office that I just wanted to walk around, no extras like the boat trip. The sign says 'foreign visitors' 100Y but after she help me scan the barcode I paid only 45, you need the barcode generated to get through an electronic turnstile to the centre. I was told masks are not compulsory and I didn't have to show my green health code. I arrived just after 9 and left around midday, 280 photo to the good and all but 10 of those had no people in them. Despite the many other people there I just walked off in a different direction or waited until they passed. My trip was weekday, I would imagine this place is very busy at weekends. Plenty of places to buy drink, even basic coffee shops and a couple of not very exciting restaurants so you may wish to bring food or avoid meal times. Do cover up and spray well, the place is by non flowing water and is a mosquito and bug heaven. Overall its a different place to go, you will need taxi to get there and back. I live roughly in the town centre and it cost me 57Y each way. You should be able to explore all of it in a few hours and if you find out about the geese and why they are there let me know.     What a wonderful little find. Searching on Google it shows the area and a couple of photo points but I couldn't find any images online. There are now, all mine :) I went on a midweek morning and the place was deserted, 2 people fishing, 2 walking their dogs and 1 bathing in the Hangzhou to Beijing canal. There is a pagoda which was closed so I couldn't go up and get a better view of the area, a few little bridges, plenty of water surrounding the place and seats to chill out all around. I couldn't find anywhere for food or drinks so take whatever you need. In summer at least a bottle of water. Although once you leave the park there are lots of local shops. Like all Chinese parks it is immaculately clean and well worth a bit of your time. I spent an hour there photographing before heading off to Yuehe by foot. If you want to sit and chill, watch a bit of nature then allow up to 2 hours. See more..

    I have walked most of Jiaxing in a year there as a photographer. I found Meiwan area and had a look around. It is a typical Chinese rebuild, where the old has been renovated to sort of half and half, you know it has old character but somehow it oozes new style. You can easily walk around in half an hour and be underwhelmed, in my opinion there are many more interesting places in the city and most won't be on a map. It is easy to get to via taxi or bus stop is right outside. It is also a stop off point for the free ferry doing the Nanhu to Yuehe route so you could get lucky and catch that. I don't think this is a must see and to be honest the city offers lots of better places. See more..

    As the title says, the park can be found behind the shopping street opposite Yuehe old town. It is a quite and peaceful place to sit and relax, february has the plum blossoms and in march the cherry blossoms are in bloom. I would suggest try to avoid weekends and busy periods as you can't move in there for women taking selfies amongst the trees and kids running riot around the place. There is a small studio inside where you can observe people doing things like flower arranging and painting. If you have been to the busy old town and want a place a bit quieter to catch your breath then head for this park. I frequent it often as it's great for flower and plant photos. See more..

    This is a good place to pick up some affordable art work by locals. Paper cuttings, pictures made of straw was the top seller on my tour, paintings. The artist signed and dated her work. My only complaint is they are not wrapped well for travel. But in a country where toilet paper is scarce I shouldn't complain. I improvised wrapping it back at the hotel room the best I could. We ate a real chinese lunch with a local family in this Bread and Breakfast area, called Huixan County that was very good. The city people come here to relax but don't expect it to be US standard B & B. Outdoor playground gym, no pools, beds, bedding and TV. Interesting area. They tore down the old houses and most of the people moved to the B & B area. The construction debris is everywhere because they don't have garbage pick up. Very dusty.     If you arrive by fast train, then cab, you may well see the stadium on your way in to town. It looks impressive and was built for soccer. Alas, a team never materialized so it mostly sits empty.
