   Hot Springs & Geysers
   You cross the river on a rickety suspended bridge. Pass the 19th century hydro power plant to the caretakers house on the hill. Ask him to open the Hot Spring house for you. He charges about 1US dollar per person. It is a lukewarm sulfer tub in a small room. The tub is large enough for 8 or 10 people. You are right on the edge of the raging river. The tub makes for a nice dip at the end of a sweaty hiking day in the mountains looking for Panda. There are absolutely no services and the place is rural and run down. I rated this high based on the fact that you are not on the tourist track and the area is beautiful. The spring itself isnt much if you are a connoissuer of these things, but the experience is memorable just for the location and rural off-track charm. See more..

   Foping National Nature reserve is a remote area in the qinling mountains. Travelling to the place is not easy for people who are not able to speak chinese. Otherwise if you like to see golden monkeys in their natural habitat it is the best place to do. You can travel from Xi'an by bus , which takes 4-5 hours to Foping city. There the new ecological theme hotel is an excellent recommendation for staying. The hotel can arrange a pickup service for you to the national nature reserve , you even can found a wildlife expert there , who speaks english very well. The drive to main entrance of the reserve is about 30-45 min . Then you have to walk into a beautyful valley to see the monkeys . After one hour hiking you will find a place where rangers have adapted a group of 70 golden monkeys to human apparance by feeding them with corn one time a day.
