Quite simply this has to be a "must see" on anyone's bucket list. The glass bridge, glass sky walk and specially constructed mountain pathway system has to be seen to be believed. I have no doubt that in the years to come, this particular tourist attraction will become world renowned and on par with the USA's Grand Canyon. Absolutely unbelievable. See more..

My training in Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture was something I will never forget. I loved that we did lots of different kung fu styles and I particularly enjoyed learning tai chi basics because i didn't have any experience in it before I went to Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture. The shifus were all very friendly and they were very accommodating to my interests, if I wanted to try something else, they easily rescheduled my training. The training was hard and I pushed myself every day and when I left, I felt like I had accomplished a lot. Another aspect of the training which I enjoyed was the chance to learn Chinese and the Buddhist studies. This trip was deepened my fascination of Chinese culture and kung fu. See more..

Newly opened after recent renovations, Jingxiu Park is a lovely green space in the midst of busy Baoding. The park is conveniently located just across from the Wanbo/Vanbo shopping center. It is easily accessible by public bus. (Currently the 25, 29, 30, 35, and 60 stop there, plus several others.) There is no fee for admission. There are a number of water features, numerous walking paths, benches, public toilets, and scenic hills topped by pagodas. In March, the lake was still not refilled, and many of the trees only starting to bloom, but it is nevertheless a delightful place on a clear day. Many people of all ages enjoy the park, from families with small children to older people practicing various forms of exercise. See more..

Everybody goes to this park after supper to enjoy life. People crowd to do verious tipes of dancing, TaiJi and many other activities. Children playing and running arround. As one that knows very little of Chinese history, this was a very enjoyable stop on our journey. We hired a guide that really explained all the history to us. She only spoke Chinese, so one of the guys with us did the translating. There are some interpretive signs, but they don't go into the depth that the guide did. This is a lovely bit of greenery in Baoding. Although not near the city center, it is easily accessible by bus (52 from closer to city center). It is great for families with small children, couples, or solo travelers. The gardens are divided into different sections, some of which include the maple tree garden, the autumn garden, the rose garden, etc. Push pedal carts are available for rent, as well as electric scooters, but this is the perfect place to walk around, either on the paved roads, or the walking paths. These tunnels were built during the Sino-Japan War by local farmers, for Chinese soldiers to hide & "live" in during that war. They're pretty much as they were back then, albeit with an arrow on the wall here and there to keep you heading in the right direction. If you're really tall, unsteady on your feet, or have a bad back, you might want to rethink a visit there - the ceilings are (mostly) low of course, and you spend some of the time bent low to avoid hitting your head. The museum up top is cleverly done and really tells the story well. My local Chinese friends and I were impressed. Took us a while to find the entrance we used, but worth persevering. In the street outside, there's the ever present street market selling war style souvenirs, including swords etc! You can also have your photo taken cheaply on the old war motorcycle &/or the jeep beside it. Great souvenir and a bit of fun after the sombre mood of the museum. All well worth the visit, in my opinion. See more..

As a Westerner newly arrived in China, Wanbo has been a great resource. The basement houses a huge Walmart plus various small shops. The upper levels are various kinds of shopping, including an H&M with sizes that would fit most Westerners!!! (Shoes, however, still run small.) There is also a Starbucks and Burger King, plus upscale stores of various kinds. Somewhere there is a movie theater, although I have yet to visit it. See more..

名牌店很多的、位置相当于北京的长安街上的一家挺时髦的大商场，不知道为啥，加了这么个“先天下忧而忧”的名字。里面店铺太多了，不乏我知道的品牌，赫然在里面撞见了无印良品，不禁感叹，原来走到哪里，都是差不多的，这世界已然太太太全球化了。“面包物语”在地下有店铺，还有一家超市，貌似卖着许多进口商品。但是在我问到石家庄的特产放在哪里的时候，店员很是迷惘——不是不知道放在哪里，而是不知道石家庄有什么特产。 See more..

大慈阁就在保定市区裕华路边，附近就是保定百货大楼，来大慈阁需要购买门票，平时这里的游客并不多，但是香火却很旺盛，在景点门口就有可以燃香的地方，大慈阁外观非常的雄伟，这里的历史也很悠久，在楼阁之上还可以俯览周边市区的景色，大慈阁的东南角就是钟楼，旁边就是直隶总督署和古莲花池，可以一并参观。 See more..

光园是一片民国时期的中洋结合的建筑，灰蓝色的外表，门楼很讲究的样子。我们去保定之前，就查到了光园这个景点，而且看到它距离直隶总督府很近，所以计划去看的。但是发现不让进，里面弄得跟废墟似得。周边也是一些商铺在开发，乱七八糟的。保定本来就有一些古迹，但是不算太多，如果包括光园在内的这些都细心整理出来，让保定这个城市散发出悠久历史酝酿的包浆之辉，那么保定是有资格作为一个旅行城市立足于世的。 See more..
