I recommend getting a local guide to help find various hikes, since many trails we took led through little villages and seemed difficult to get to.     Very beautiful! The car ride up the mountain to get to the "waterfalls is quite steep. But once you get there it's beautiful! "Hidden Dragon Waterfalls" The waterfalls are in a very steep bamboo-lined ravine, with concrete footpaths and metal staircases built up and down both sides. The waterfalls are part of a river which cuts down a steep ravine, of which Daxi Town is at the bottom and Wai Zhang Long Shan (a mountain village) at the top. It takes about 2hrs to walk up to the top and back down. You can take a zipline or tobaggon ride down. See more..

    We went there with our two kids - 2 years and 5 years - for one day and I can say that we all had so much fun. I need to mention that we were there during the week, therefore very few people which might be different at the weekends. Thus we never had to queue up anywhere. I would say that this park is perfect for kids between four and twelve years old, but they also provided some attractions for our small one. Besides they also have a lot of shows and a Hello Kitty Parade. Compared to the Hello Kitty Land close to Tokyo, I would recommend this one. See more..

    The Chinese name for this place is “Bamboo Sea” and it’s not difficult to see why when you look down from the top. It’s indeed a sea of bamboo trees! Anji is about 3 hours by driving from Shanghai and it’s a nice place for a retreat from the busy city life. Come to the bamboo forest for clean fresh air. This is the venue where Lee Ang filmed Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Climb all the way to the top where the view is beautiful. Probably a 30 to 45 minutes climb. At the peak, you can pay 80 rmb to cross the forest via a glass bridge that’s a few hundred meters long. You can also choose to descend via luge. We, like most, chose to walk down. See more..

    Pretty cool experience - I had no idea that there was a skiing area that close to Shanghai so it was a nice surprise. There are only 2 rather short runs but it's still (much) better than no skiing at all. One day is definitely enough though. It wasn't busy when we went so there were no waiting times... meaning we really did take full advantage of our time there.     Alila选址在这里还是非常有眼光的。
    不过这类地方的商业模式就是酒店+地产，不能指望酒店能带来多丰厚的利润。

    我是和朋友在2007年到安吉竹海游玩的，我从小就喜欢竹子，特别是国画中的竹子，他是梅兰竹菊四君子之一，尤其欣赏它的气节。一到安吉就直奔那片竹海，进入竹海就被它吸引住了，那里空气中的负离子充足极了，在那住了三天，我原来在上海几天都没好的咳嗽，竟然不治而愈了，真是神了! 这里的空气湿润而又清新，真是舒服极了！我被这里遮天盖日的竹子惊呆了！而且满眼的绿色养眼极了！我想我以后一定还会来这里看竹海。 See more..

    A well maintained bamboo eco-park and museum. Ideal for families. The bamboo museum has interesting bamboo artifacts, depicting the historical connection between bamboo and the Chinese way of life. There are red pandas and giant pandas in medium enclosures.     Having done rafting in other countries, we thought we should give it a try in China, especially since Anji is quite well known for this activity. For starters, I will clarify that this is not the same as the type of rafting in Alaska or New Zealand. In fact, the Chinese word actually translates to drifting. Two are allocated to each dinghy, although they allow for single riders or three riders, provided the child is of a very young age. You drift through a series of “rapids” which are really more like water slides. Each dinghy are provided with a pair of oars and a water scoop. The latter comes in very handy as water tends to flow into the dinghy after going through each “rapid”. We went as a group of about 20 people and all of us had a great time. The only thing that wasn’t so good is the wait and the crowds. If you are also not good with crowds, then I would suggest against going on a weekend or vacation period. See more..

    A few miles away from Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province ,2hrs drive from Shanghai lies an enormous park, beautifully kept ,well organised exhibit on the history and importance of the bamboo in Chinese history . More than 400 varieties of bamboos are on display in the midst of a botanical garden which includes 2 Pandas as well .But the main interest is to learn how important and significant the bamboo has and still is in the Chinese culture and economy .     If you don’t want the crowds of Moganshan but still want the cool mountains and green bamboo covered mountains, I recommend Anji. There are beautiful hikes, the town is clean. One of the best things to do is the river rafting. I was skeptical but it’s set up to in a canyon full of clear water pools you can float down and even swim in. See more..
