    Mahymobiles image
SEE A CENTURY OF AUTOMOBILE HISTORY !When Ghislain Mahy bought his first car in 1944, he had no idea that this 1921 Ford T would be the first car in a collection of more than 1000 vehicles by the year 2000. The first vehicles of the collection were stored for more than half a century in Ghent, at the old “Winter Circus” building. 230 of our mechanical gems were transported to the Brussels “Autoworld” museum in 1986, where they are still on display. The other, approximately 750, vehicles had to wait until 1997 for a new home to be found. This turned out to be the old “Ernaelsteen” factory in Leuze-en-Hainaut, where we are today. The new site is called “Mahymobiles”. This private collection, unique because of the diversity of vehicles included, shows automotive history from it’s humble beginnings at the end of the 19th century to the present day.Amble through the world history of automobiles from 1895 to the present day (300 veteran and vintage vehicles) and gain mechanical knowledge in the educational area. In other areas of Mahymobiles you will discover exceptional collections of miniature cars, historic bicycles & motorcycles, a children’s mini circuit, a gallery dedicated to the evolution of the coach building and a special display on world famous ‘raids’.Come and visit “Mahymobiles” car museum regularly, so you will be able to see for yourself the evolution and continuing expansion. - The epicentre of the Battle of Waterloo
Wednesday: Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
Musée de la Ferme d'Hougoumont image
This historic farmhouse, the last authentic witness to the battle on 18 June 1815, accommodates a pioneering multimedia installation that tells the story of the “battle within the battle”. The show combines innovation with respect for memory. Hougoumont Farm was the scene of fierce and deadly fighting. It is located in a forward position that protected the Allies’ right flank, and was where Napoleon’s brother sparked off the battle. What was only supposed to be a diversionary manoeuvre at first became the most violent point of the battle. Throughout the day, the French assaults here were furious but in vain. The main building was burned to the ground. The house we see today is in fact the former gardener’s cottage. See more..

I recently attended a meeting here with work. The room was very small with a tiny window and no TV, they said there was no TV to make people socialise in the lounge areas. the food was excellent as was the facilities and grounds, there is a small gym and water/massage beds, did not use either but they are there to be used for no charge. The host was excellent as was the Chef's that gave a small presentation before the meal with the food and wine that we were going to have each night. The snacks in the break times were varied and excellent quality, you need some will power not to eat too much. Great place for a business conference / meeting. See more..

Quiet, a museum ? Not in Louvain-la-Neuve, where the Musée L makes artworks talk to each other : a Buddha next to a medieval Christ, ancient writings alongside calculating machines... The university museum of UCLouvain, with 20.000 items in its collection, explores some new and unusual encounters that tell us about the world and our humanity. Art works are not the only thing on display: the museum also presents the UCLouvain’s scientific collections. Natural history specimens, archaeological and ethnographic objects and scientific inventions are all on show in 2,600 m² of exhibition space at the heart of a building that is a landmark of modern Belgian architecture. Musée L is not like other museums: it is a place of living dialogue and exciting discovery. See more..
  11. 4.5 Parc de réalité virtuelle Terragamecenter (26 reviews)
    - Great games but ‘terra’ble food rip off
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks
Parc de réalité virtuelle Terragamecenter image
We loved the game and everyone had a really good time - suitable for everyone and there were lots of laughs. The downside is the charge of 10€ per person for food and drink - we would’ve expected a bit more than 2 bags of Crisps and 4 bottles of soft drinks from the shop next door. In total we paid 120€ (12 people) for what cost them maximum 10€. The stuff they served should’ve been included... or they could have made a bit more effort. See more..
