4.5Batutumongga(170 reviews) - Rent a Motorbike and Go! Neighborhoods • Points of Interest & Landmarks
Wow!! We rented a motorbike from our hotel and headed up towards Batutumonga. The route we took has us climbing upwards through the rice paddies. We knew there was supposed to be a lovely panorama at the top, but WOW!!! We were blown away. Just past Batutumonga, you can also find the graves in the giant stone at Loko'mata. I recommend checking them out. We had spent the day before on a tour of different gravesites in the region, and so on this day we weren't really looking for any specific gravesites. However, Loko'mata is very unique and worth a quick visit. We took another route down to Rantepao from Batutumonga, but I would recommend seeking out the rice paddy route for the way up. The scenery just builds and builds until you are finally at the top. We must have stopped ten times to take photos on the way up!See more..

We took a yellow plated public transport to Makale. Hired ojek (motorcycle taxi) for 50,000 to the top of the mountain. They waited. The statue of Jesus is very tall. His pose is giving value to the amazingly picturesque and expansive valley below. The view is amazing. There are little shops selling all tourist needs. We got dropped back at the Makale market for a wander. Worth it.See more..

Nosarara Nosabatutu Monument, including the Peace Gong, was built to promote an understanding of unity in diversity in Central Sulawesi following conflicts in such cities as Poso. As such, much of its imagery is dedicated to the idea of religious harmony. However, this monument also offers special opportunities even for those people not interested in the history of Central Sulawesi. It incorporates a multi-purpose approach to tourism and takes advantage of its position on top of a hill to offer commanding views of Palu City and the Palu Bay. There is also a small eatery offering drinks and snacks. Be warned: the stone near the Peace Gong gets very hot, so if you want to see it up close wait until it's cool or cloudy (you are expected to remove your shoes and socks when approaching the gong).See more..
