Came here for Zhuhur praying. It was quite big, hence the name Great Mosque I presumed. The facilities, cleanliness, all were in good condition. And the location is right at the downtown, so easily accessible.See more..

The Al-Alam Mosque is situated at the end of a kilometre-long causeway in Kendari Bay. It is pretty much set at the edge of a mangrove swamp and it is a hot, humid place to visit. The waterside location is the main attraction here, at least for non-Muslims, and the view is okay but far from outstanding. In terms of the architecture, we found the design and construction distinctly mediocre. There are some beautiful, historic mosques in Indonesia in Banda Aceh, Kudus and Demak, but this is not a modern building which suffers from the curse of modern Indonesia: plastic cladding over every surface of the building.See more..
