This statue is of Murugan, the son of Parvati and Shiva, brother to Ganesha and the Hindu God of War. For a god of war, the depiction of Murugan looks rather benign. Cheerful even. Stil, it’s impressive for its height at nearly 50 metres. You cannot miss this sculpture if visiting Batu caves as it’s right next to the entrance at the bottom of the stairs.
