The National Botanical Garden Shah Alam or Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam (TBNSA) which was previously known as TPM and which was initially known as Bukit Cherakah Agriculture Park was developed on 24th April 1986 before it was promulgated as the Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam Agriculture Park Malaysia by the late Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj ibni Hishamuddin Alam Shah Al-Haj in 1991. The name TBNSA conferred to the park now is in line with the decision made by the Cabinet of Ministers in 2007 to further develop TBNSA as a replacement to TPM as national botanical garden. The objective for the development of TBNSA is to create a national center of excellence within the fields of education, scientific research and conservation for the development of botanical, horticulture, agriculture and other various related fields.See more..
It is located on the top floor of 1 Utama shopping mall and it has a huge collection of plants and flowers. I visited it along with a friend in the afternoon and it was hot, so could not explore it fully. It's better to go there in the evening. There is no entrance fee but there are very few visitors inside when we went there.See more..
Lake Garden in Shah Alam is a place where i love to spend my time alone. It is an open space with many activities you can do with your family. The view is much breathtaking when you sit in the evening. This place is suitable for a person to jog around.See more..

My wife and I , driving from Bangsar, were early for a Seafood meal in Pandamaran, (where we so often eat) so we visit this fine park; its maintenance and respect for nature was a pleasure after the state of many parks (forest reserves) in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling jaya. It combines comfortable pathways at the lower level with fine biking and hiking trails as on the upper slopes. In all aroung 80 acres, it is most alive in early morning and in the evenings when one can meet the appreciative locals and relax (or take daily exercise).
