Took the bus from Iwakuni Station to the stop a two minute walk from the bridge as part of the good value bridge, ropeway, castle combination ticket. The bridge was beautiful to look at, both on top and underneath, although as others have said be ready for the wide shallow steps that can be quite spot on the downward slope until you get used to them. I bought an icecream to eat on the way back before I saw the sign that asked you not to eat or drink on the bridge.See more..
We recently crossed the bridge on a tour of the area. It is a a great sight when you first see it. It must be a great asset to the area and the island. I could imagine it must have been hard in the past two cross by ferry especially in bad weather. It has now become a tourist attraction itself.See more..
