Central Lobby Exhibition In the Central Lobby stand the "UZUBASHIRA PILLAR" a pillar found in the ruins of the Izumo Grand Shrine,discovered in 2000. Theme Exhibitions ”Izumo Grand Shrine and the Festivals of the Land of the Gods” offers an introduction to the mysteries of Izumo Grand shrine, said to have been vast in scale in ancient times. I was not very impressed with this place, We rode our bicycles from Hagi expecting great seafood since it sits right on the coast and many fish are transported from the near by docks, but we did not find many eateries. We did see alot of fresh fish for sale but being that we were traveling, we did not have a place to cook the fish. We ate from the stand outside the market entrance, grilled squid and ramen was delicious (about 8 bucks for very good portions) I strongly recommend you try it. There is also a sit-down restaurant located in the premisses but it was expensive. Overall i expected more from this place.See more..
