    Angell Expeditions image
Angell Expeditions provided a great half-day canoe trip for eight of us through beautiful canyons in Big Bend State Park. Charlie, the owner, was professional and responsive during the booking process and provided detailed information about the meeting site, what to bring, etc. Our guide, Sam, was fun and knowledgeable about the area and it was evident she loves this unique part of the country. I highly recommend this company! See more..

  4. 5.0 Marfa Maid Dairy (4 reviews)
    - Goats = Cheese
Lessons & Workshops • Food Tours
    Marfa Maid Dairy image
We headed out a few miles North of downtown Marfa to check out the place where all that wonderful cheese we get around Marfa is made. Malinda, Al & goats greeted us. We learned their history & experiences then headed over to help Al milk goats. Several goats have learned to just hop up on the milking stand & are ready to get started. Some were more friendly than others & loved posing as well as checking us out. Our daughter enjoyed the milking lesson as well. Then a treat of a variety of goat cheese to end our time there. A fun hour for sure! See more..
  5. 5.0 Rob Crowley (3 reviews)
    - Great company; great experience
    Bike Tours
    Rob Crowley image
Rob was great to work with! He provided our group of 16 riders with a very enjoyable day around Marfa and on a small two-lane highway outside of town. His bikes are in top shape and are easy to operate. Rob took extra time acquainting all of us (experienced and novice) with the gears, brakes, pedal assist, etc. and made sure we were ready to ride. Our ebike experience was a highlight of the trip, and I highly recommend Rob and ebikes Marfa. See more..

    - “ Wife and I “
    Architectural Buildings
    Presidio County Courthouse image
Must go to top floor, see the entire town. It is a step back in time when craftsmanship was the name of the game. We entered the courtroom ( not occupied) and Wer struck by the wood work throughout knowing that it has stayed the same many, many years. It was a small peek back in history of a town that is proud of its past . Your trip is not complete without walking the circular staircase to the top. See more..

  11. 4.5 Chinati Hot Springs (17 reviews)
    - Nice Oasis In The Middle Of Nowhere
    Hot Springs & Geysers
    Chinati Hot Springs image
This is a great little place. The cabins are comfortable, the shared kitchen facilities are well appointed, the hot tub is excellent, staff is friendly, and the scenery is hard to beat. It is out in the middle of nowhere. Know that you aren't going to get a cell signal out there, there is no WiFi, and that you should top off your gas tank in Presidio. Bring anything you want to eat or drink with you. The 7-mile dirt road to get there isn't bad. Anything that isn't lowered could get there. Make sure you put a heavy rock on your cooler to keep out the critters. There is a great little canyon trail leading to a bunch of painted rocks. They aren't artifacts or anything, but they are cool. Don't climb the stairs near there. It leads to private property. See more..
  12. 4.5 Marfa Gliders (14 reviews)
    - Soar Like a Bird
    Sightseeing Tours
    Marfa Gliders image
I, my wife and 2 others of our group took glider rides with Master Flight Instructor Burt Compton at the Marfa airport. We had contacted Burt a few weeks before our trip at which time he sent an email detailing what to expect as well as what to bring. Burt's primary concern is safety and ensuring a pleasant experience for his passengers. Our whole group came along and we ate lunch on picnic tables at his hanger while watching each of our flights. I'm 6'4", 190 lbs. and Burt was not sure I would fit in the plane, but I did, with not a lot of leg room to spare. The ride lasted about 15 minutes or so, but what a great time it was. Being able to feel the movement of the air as you pass through it, feeling the lift of an updraft, the drop after coming out of it was the best part. Add amazing views and what's not to like. All of us who took the ride agreed it was worth the money. See more..

    Chinati Foundation image
Minimalist masterpieces in the most amazing setting. Truly 4-dimensional art: the work is an expression of its form, the observers’s place, the natural surrounding, the time of day, and day of year, and some day (one imagines, hopes?) year of century. You’ve likely never seen or thought about light, shadows, angle, form, and placement in relation to “the other” in the same way. See more..

  23. 4.0 Marfa Municipal Golf Course (1 review)
    - Play it for the Scenery
    Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
    Marfa Municipal Golf Course image
Known as "The Highest Golf Course in Texas", this is a really interesting 9 hole course. The scenery is absolutely spectcular -- some of your shots are hitting towards a 20 mile open expanse. The pros: it's inexpensive, it's not crowded, it's walkable -- almost completely flat, and the scenery can't be beat. Teh cons: the fairways aren't perfect and if you miss the fairway you will likely have a rocky or pebbly lie. The greens are tiny and slightly elevated, so they are not that easy to hit. The guy that runs the course will help you out - make sure to stop at the turn and get yourself some liquids! See more..
