3 Star Places To Visit in Cedar Key, Florida, United States (3)

  1. 3.5 Cedar Key Beach (60 reviews)
    - Just ok
    Spent 2-3 hours Beaches

Cedar Key is a very small, quiet town. If you are used to vacationing in more commercialized areas, this will be very different. Very few restaurants and they close early. Many places closed during the week. A few quaint shops, but again, short "open" hours. Beaches reminded me of being on a lake, not the ocean. We stayed for 5 nights and got bored quickly. The only thing I really enjoyed were the birds and dolphins that are plentiful to see. See more..

George might be grumpy, but he offers a superior product. Cart worked very well and we loved the solar powered roof to keep it charged. We rented a golf cart from another place (their cart stalled three times and we had to push to get back to our rental home...this was after only a few sporadic trips around the little town. We charged the cart overnight and brought it back). Upon returning the other cart, we walked over to Gulf Kart Company and were able to secure a two-day rental on the spot. Reservations are recommended/preferred and the business is cash only. Must call or walk up to reserve, as there is no online booking. Price appears to be slightly more, but Gulf Kart includes taxes/fees in the flat rate. See more..
  3. 3.5 Cedar Key Scrub State Reserve (32 reviews)
    - Just a quick stop
    Nature & Wildlife Areas

We only stopped here for a little while: we weren't really dressed for hiking, so we only stretched our legs a bit. Based on the cars we were the only people there. Our small stop is only worth mentioning because we happened to see a large family of wild pigs on our little walk, and it added something extra for our day. the piglets were so cute! See more..
