Superior cart rental
George might be grumpy, but he offers a superior product. Cart worked very well and we loved the solar powered roof to keep it charged. We rented a golf cart from another place (their cart stalled three times and we had to push to get back to our rental home...this was after only a few sporadic trips around the little town. We charged the cart overnight and brought it back). Upon returning the other cart, we walked over to Gulf Kart Company and were able to secure a two-day rental on the spot. Reservations are recommended/preferred and the business is cash only. Must call or walk up to reserve, as there is no online booking. Price appears to be slightly more, but Gulf Kart includes taxes/fees in the flat rate.

Not really sure
I am truly not sure how to rate this company. Man acted like we were a bother and not sure he even wanted to rent to us. He was very abrupt but took our money. His son did explain how to use cart and its features which was nice. We had an absolute blast cruising the island. Kids loved it. Very nice going next to coast line. Then cell phone rang from this company. Same abrupt man called saying someone complained we took the curve too fast. Said it wasn't a race car. Really???!!! From then on, was afraid to move to fast on cart, like locals would call if we went to fast..... How fast can you go in a golf cart anyway???!!! Cruising around and two hours before it was to be turned in, sounded like wheel almost fell off. Man said it "happens all the time", no compensation given though for the 2 hours and no way back to condo offered, so we walked.

AWFUL
Just as others have stated this man has zero customer service skills and makes you feel like you're inconveniencing him for wanting to rent a cart. I asked about renting for a month and he immediately told me he would lose money before ever discussing a price with at least 30 carts sitting there. When I said okay how about a week he was only interested in how many people there were which doesn't seem like a relevant question for a golf cart. I said thanks anyway and proceeded to find the fabulous Cedar Key Adventures. Booked my cart online for a month, was met by the owner at one of their 3 locations near the pier, and even rented a paddleboard from them the next day. If you don't want to conduct business then please do us all a favor and SHUT IT DOWN.
