    - Great visit and lovely staff!

Grove Museum of Victorian Life image
The Grove Museum of Victorian Life was developed in the mid 19th century by the Liverpool shipping merchant Duncan Gibb as a summer retreat for himself and his family. Later, the Victorian villa became the family's permanent residence and family home and a visit to the Grove is like stepping back in time. You'll find a series of period rooms, containing mostly original furnishings and fittings, a costume room, and displays of the possessions of three generations. There's also the opportunity to view the outbuildings, which would have served the substantial adjoining farmland, with agricultural equipment including a restored horse-powered threshing mill on display. Step out into the gardens and you'll be able to see the bees making honey or have a game of croquet on the lawn. Sit and relax in the Conservatory or enjoy a picnic in the Grove's gardens. There is also a museum shop on site. Admission £5.50. See more..

    Milntown House and Gardens image
Milntown is set in over fifteen acres of beautiful gardens in the North of the Isle of Man, near Ramsey and is one of the Island’s most historic houses. Originally the home of one of the leading families on the Isle of Man -the ‘Christians’ - Milntown has also been a school for young ladies and a hotel. More recently it once again reverted to being a private house owned by Lady Edwards and subsequently her son Sir Clive. Upon his death, in 1999, a Trust was created to maintain the house and gardens for the benefit of the Manx people, in line with the wishes of Sir Clive. Milntown House is open for tours each Wednesday and Saturday from April - September. Garden Tours are held monthly, please visit our website for further information regarding tours and other events held at MilntownMilntown also has a restaurant that can cater for up to sixty private diners or an elite fine dining experience for up to 14 guests in the old Milntown dining room. Larger numbers can also be catered for with a bespoke marquee in the stunning garden. See more..

    - Always lovely to visit
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Parks
    Mooragh Park image
An excellent traditional town park with a large boating lake. The grounds are maintained immaculately all year round and it is always a pleasure to have a walk through the park. It is set back just from the beach but the boating lake is filled with sea water so you can often see jelly fish and other fish in the water. There are rising boats and pedalos to hire. Two cafés are available in the grounds so you can get a meal, snacks drinks and I've cream depending on your choice. There is also a great children's play area and outdoor gym equipment around the park See more..
  7. 4.5 The Venture Centre (36 reviews)

    The Venture Centre image
We had a short 3-day break at the center and had a fantastic time. The staff are fantastic: keen, polite, professional, highly-skilled. We were able to do kayaking, abseiling, gorge-walking, shooting and archery - filling nearly every hour of the day. We wanted to be challenged which we were, but never felt too far out-of-our depth and always had the experts on-hand to ensure nothing went wrong. The accommodation is good - hot water all the time, heating through the night in the cold, and en-suite bathroom with 3 sharing (in our case). Highly recommended to try a new sport, or go further and challenge yourself to something you'd never otherwise do. See more..

  11. 4.5 Millennium Way (4 reviews)
    - Kings of Man traveled this path!
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails • Scenic Walking Areas
    Millennium Way image
Developed to celebrate the Manx Millennium in 1979 , the walk is based on an ancient ridge way route which was known as the 'Via Regia' along which the former Kings of Man travelled to Castletown the former capital of the Island. The way crosses the Island, climbing to open heather moorland on the western slopes of Snaefell, descending to Crosby through to Ballasalla and then to the medieval castle of Rushen. See more..
  12. 4.0 Balladoole Civic Amenity Site (1 review)
    - Something for Nothing
Sunday: 1:00 PM - 4:15 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Balladoole Civic Amenity Site image
Easy level access right next to the A10 Ramsey to Point of Ayre road on the outskirts of Ramsey. Plenty of parking, clean and well organised. Skips lined up & clearly labelled, helpful staff on hand to assist. The thing that marks this tip above all others is that it has a free help your self, pick your own junk section. Under cover and out of the rain there are books, household goods and all sorts of old stuff that you can take away for nothing. I picked up 2 books, very clean & hardly used, saving about £8 in the shops. Where there is no recycling collection you can dump yours here for free. See more..

  14. 4.0 Ballafayle Cairn (1 review)
    - A small neolithic burial site
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins • Mysterious Sites
    Ballafayle Cairn image
This is an isolated setting high above the sea between Cornaa and Ballajora . The cairn dates from between 2000-1500BC. There isn’t a lot to see apart from the wedge shaped mound which still has a small stones on one side forming a kerb round the base. At the front is a small paved area, referred to as the 'forecourt' and there are a few small standing stones. Cremated burials were found when the site was excavated in 1926. This is a delightful spot with views across to Maughold Head and the distant coast of the Lake District. Few people come here. The cairn is on the seaward side of the unclassified road between Cornaa and Ballajora, opposite the Quaker Graveyard. There is some parking by the side of the road and the grid reference is SC 476902. See more..
