Khalfan, our company contact, was extremely helpful and booked us a fantastic tour of Gombe National Park with an excellent guide named Paulo, who is a Park Ranger. We were fortunate enough to see some chimps during our trip! We also had a once-in-lifetime boat ride to the park on Lake Tanganyika, which Khalfan also arranged for us. Would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Kigoma area! See more..

I had a recent trip with my family to Kigoma and was happy to get across this wonderful company which provided us with the best transport in the region. Their prices are good even for locals like us. They never compromised on the car quality, all the cars we used were well maintained and very good looking. See more..

  4. 4.5 Gombe Stream National Park (58 reviews)
    - Government boat to gombe from kigoma
    National Parks
    Gombe Stream National Park image
We were in gombe last week to see the chimps. Because there was no recent information on the internet beforehand we prepared ourselves for an expensive private boatride from kigoma. It actually turned out very easy and affordable. In kigoma is an gombe park information centre, government run. Here you can book a boatride and if you want a place to stay for the night. See picture for very clear pricelist. We shared 80 dollars for fuel with the 4 of us, paid 23 dollars each to the captain, shared 23 dollar with the four of us for a guide for half a day and 118 dollar each for the entrance fee. Allthough i can imagine its beautiful to stay for the night, i didnt feel rushed at all during this daytrip. See more..

    - One of the worlds most beautiful natural wonders

    Lake Tanganyika image
Having spent about eighteen months on and off exploring this most amazing body of water which forms part of four international boundaries between Tanzania, Burundi, The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia. A number of national parks can be found around the lake including the Mahale Mountains National Park and Gombe Stream National Park where world renowned researcher Jane Goodall spent many years studying chimpanzee's in their natural habitat. Lake Tanganyika is the longest lake in the world at around 500 miles and over a mile deep is the second deepest lake in the world and holds about 18% of the fresh water on the planet. There are a number of resorts and lodges around the Lake including Lake Shore Lodge, Lake Tanganyika Adventure Safaris, Lake Tanganyika Hotel and Ndole Bay Lodge. See more..

I and my husband planed a trip to Western Tanzania. Our trip to visit the chimps in Mahale was a last minute arrangement and Joshua and his team made it possible with the minimum of fuss and a maximum of efficiency. Everything worked like clockwork from the moment we were met off the plane to the moment we were dropped off at the airport after an unforgettable visit to Mahale. This was a trip we will never forget. See more..

  8. 3.5 Livingstone Museum & Memorial (49 reviews)
    - Told a meaningful story
    History Museums
    Livingstone Museum & Memorial image
If you set your expectations correctly you won't be disappointed like others providing reviews. I went with a group as part of a larger trip so we didn't pay individually to get in. The drive from Kigoma to Ujiji was culturally educational and if you absorbed it, the quality of the museum shouldn't have been a surprise. I thought it was a huge step for them to have what they did have and was grateful to be able to learn and be a part of the history by absorbing so I could share with others when I came home. I had also just come from Zanzibar where we were educated by a local during the Stone Town walking tour of the slave trade relative to Zanzibar. So it was very neat to be able to be have visited both ends of it. After visiting the museum we drove to the road where the slaves started their long journey from Ujiji, lined with large oak trees. I would recommend it if you are in the area but I wouldn't necessarily recommend seeking it out as a primary point of your travels. See more..
