After seeing this place on pictures, I decided to go there with a friend. We were lucky we could go by car and could park at just a few 100 meters of the entrance. This place used to be a quarry, but is now more a touristic spot. You don't have to pay to get in, but they do check you bags for security. Maybe it's best to ask some information when getting in. There is a path going all the way up the hill and around the lake. You will get one of the best view on the other side, so it is recommended to go. Make sure you take something to drink (like tereré), 'cause you might need it! See more..

La verdad es que no es conveniente hacer un tour privado que cuesta tan caro. Todo esto se puede hacer en el Centro histórico, caminando, muy seguro y bonito. La costa se puede recorrer en bicicleta, nuestro hotel la incluía, o en taxi que no es barato pero desde el Palacio de Lopez, casa de gobierno, hasta más allá de las playas cuesta 45000 guaraníes que don 10 dólares. Para los centros comerciales, ya sea Mariscal, que está en Villa Morra o el Paseo La Faleria, también en transporte público o taxi. Super barato. Comer en los shopings se puede muy bien o en el centro, por Palma se encuentra Bosli un lugar muy acogedor, con terraza, exquisita cerveza, buena comida y pastelería y mucha onda y precios excelentes. The lake is beautiful and the entrance fee is super cheap, but the activities in winter time (summer in the US) are thin. You can ride horses or take a boat across the lake(extra charges), but it's too cold for many other activities. They do have people selling strawberries and strawberries infused food and drink. This region is known for their strawberries, so enjoy them while they're in season. See more..

This is a church with a rather unusual exterior design (by european standards)which makes it quite striking and attractive to the eye. It is set in a large grassy area so space to walk around. The Church was closed but walking round there is a sort of vestry at the rear which was open and enabled me to have a quick look inside. It's a very simple but welcoming interior.
