- 4.5 Kyaik-Khauk Paya (45 reviews)
-nothing special in here
Religious Sites
nice Pagoda in outskirts of Yangon. I was the only tourist there when I visited it. nobody expects foreigners, so you can see everything without being asked to pay the entrance fee. I had to wake up the fee collector on my way out, because I wanted to pay. by the way, don't use Grab taxi to get here: since Grab is not available in this area - it will ask for 5-6 times higher rate than just city taxi. also, hire taxi for a round trip (it will cost you ~10k from/to downtown), it's hard to find a free car there. - 4.0 Chaukhtatgyi Buddha (2.726 reviews)
-A lying buddha with a difference
Spent < 1 hour Religious Sites • Monuments & Statues
Not a typical place for worship, this large temple houses a lying buddha covered under a large canopy built of structural steel (British Steel !). The covered area is large which enables touring groups to visit at the same time without much crowding. The eyes of this buddha was said to be made of special pieces of glass donated by a local entrepreneur, interesting to get close and scrutinize for a while. The soles of the buddha are decorated with lots of interesting 'icons', as this is a special feature for visitors to take photos, a 2 meter high staging was erected permanently for visitors to go up and take photos at the best location. In the covered area there are cats around, friendly and they won't get scared when taking photos with them. A place worth walking around for 45 minutes. See more..
- 4.0 Kandawgyi Park (1.443 reviews)
-Floating Temple
Parks
The 'floating temple' is the park's hallmark, very picturesque. There is a small entrance fee to the park - hopefully the fees are used to repair the walking bridge on the lake, which is in disrepair. Nice gift shop outside the temple for local arts, crafts and postcards. See more..
- 4.0 Botahtaung Pagoda (1.015 reviews)
-Unexpected Delights
Religious Sites
Viewing the entrance gate from the outside of the grounds, you cannot imagine the riches within the Pagoda itself, nor have any idea of the scale of the grounds and the seated golden Buddha statue. Upon entering the Pagoda, the labyrinthine layout leads you through golden passageways which display not only some of the riches and artifacts associated with the temple, but the story behind the creation and eventual rebuilding of this marvelous Pagoda. The passageways eventually lead you outside to an enormous courtyard where you can find the seated Buddha statue and imposing temple buildings. Outside the Pagoda grounds, there are various food and souvenir stalls, and a walkway leading to river ferries and river cruise ships. Please be aware of strict dress codes for visitors and entrance fees for foreigners. See more..

- 4.0 Immaculate Conception Cathedral (635 reviews)
-Most Authentic Cathedral in Myanmar!
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
I'm a local Buddhist but I believe in and also respect other beliefs and religions, and that's why I gave a visit to this marvelous, astonishing, breathtaking church and it's incredibly superb! The architecture of the building (red bricks, spires, images or statues), the clean and tidy garden, the peaceful atmosphere, and everything in between. You can buy candles, souvenirs, and books about Christianity at the small shop in the cathedral. Oh, and, you can donate as much as you wish for the maintenance of the church and all the services, too. Yes, it's the largest church in Myanmar, and if you're in Yangon, you must visit St. Mary's Cathedral as it's one of the most stupendous places not only in Yangon, also in Myanmar. Doubtlessly, I'll visit again in the future. See more..

- 4.0 Junction City (146 reviews)
-Recommended
Spent < 1 hour Shopping Malls
By Myanmar standards, this shopping mall is considered good. But, having said that a huge shopping mall was opened last October 2019, called Times City. Since my last visit in 2019, there have been noticeable improvements. After shopping, I would recommend a visit to the top floor where there are all kinds of cuisines to choose from, and prices are good, likewise the helpings. See more..
- 4.0 The Secretariat (104 reviews)
-2020 reconstruction goes on
Sunday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Government Buildings
The Secretariat is Yangon’s most intriguing and beautiful historic architectural landmark. The Victorian-colonial masterpiece that sits on almost 16 acres in the heart of Yangon was once the seat of British administration in Burma. Today The Secretariat Yangon is nearing the end of a multi-year renovation that will allow everyone the opportunity to explore this elegant “grande dame.” The Secretariat Yangon’s more than 400,000 square feet of space is once again coming alive with a vibrant mix of tenants that will include museum and art exhibit spaces, cultural and private event spaces, guided tours, as well as retail shops, restaurants and commercial office space - all nestled in a treasure of Victorian architecture and surrounded by flowering gardens. Currently the East Wing and North Wing are open to the public. See more..
- 4.0 Kaba Aye Paya (103 reviews)

- 4.0 Kyauktan (65 reviews)
-Worth visiting
Islands
Took two hours bus to go to Kyauktan. Worth it. Very nice scenery. Foreigner need to pay abt 5000 kyats for the boat to go over. Entrance fee is USD$2. Very nice and beautiful. If you hungry, not recommend to eat at the center stall, should be the biggest stall (you may see many bus drivers ate there), very expensive and slaughter tourists. See more..
- 4.0 Ye-le Pagoda (35 reviews)
-Worth to visit
Religious Sites
Just 1.5 hour drive away from Yangon , it is interesting to pay a visit to Historical temple. Even though you have to cross the small part of river, it is quite safe. You can hire small boat with 3000K (2$) or big one with 5000k (3.5$). Normal ticket willl cost just 200k (which is 13cents only) See more..
- 3.5 Sule Pagoda (2.585 reviews)
-Not great but better than being in the middle of a roundabout might suggest
Sunday: 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM Religious Sites
Situated as a roundabout in the middle of a busy traffic intersection. From the outside its not so impressive looking like a big circle of small shop doors with four large entrances and the pagoda might be just the one golden spire you can see. The entrance fee is, for Myanmar, and expensive 5000k but inside is then more than I imagined with a nu,Bernard of ornately decorated buildings, lots of Buddha filled side rooms and the large pagoda itself. Not worth similar money charged for the Botaung pagoda but worth a look. See more..
- 3.5 Bogyoke Aung San Market (1.997 reviews)
-Shopping for gems, clothes and artefacts
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Flea & Street Markets

This museum exhibits the treasures of the last king of Myanmar. See more..
- 3.5 Yangon Central Railway Station (855 reviews)
-Faded Imperial building
Points of Interest & Landmarks
I didn't take a train from here, but it is a good focus for bus, taxi and rickshaw travel. People wander along the tracks and dusty trains shuttle in and out sporadically. The impressive facade of the building speaks of past grandeur but it could use a coat of paint. See more..
- 3.5 Myanmar Gems Museum (197 reviews)
-Definitely worthwhile if buying gems.
Speciality Museums
There are three floors of gem dealers and this is the reason to visit this place. Prices are higher than Scott Market, but the gems are of better quality and you should expect to get a proper description and valuation. But bargain hard. The first price is an ambit claim. See more..
