Peter gave us a good tour and even got us close with some animals like giraffes and buffalos . We saw a lion but it was sleeping , which is common when it comes to the king of the jungle . Having already done some safaris by the past, we were looking at something a bit different than doing only safari drive games. The Safari Company proposed us to discover Taita Hills via a hike. It was really great with such a difference of vegetation and landscape at just one hour driving from the savanna. And the view from the top was worth it. I hiked Mount Kenya starting June 12th 2021 with Ibrahim as my guide on a 4-day trip from nairobi. I did a last minute booking with limited to no gear and was given anything and everything I needed to make the trip comfortable and successful. As a solo traveler, I was able to book a joining Safari and also meet others during my trip. The safari was with just 3 other people so it was a perfect size small group to experience the jungle peacefully and take lots of pictures from my camera. I am ready to move to Kenya to live here for some time - the nature here is divine and not worth missing. We adopted one but they are not pushy at all. The guy talking about the welfare of the animals was amazing clear, easy to understand and welcome for questions. Spent 4 hours at the gallery checking out the artefacts in the Murumbi gallery. The museum guide was quite helpful and informative. There are several rooms in this house that detail Murumbi's life. They have not put the stamps on show but there are many other artefacts that are original. The cloths from around Africa are really beautiful, the model of his living room and his collections are quite interesting. I was there in June 14 2021. This was the most challenging hike of my life. The mountain is for people who have positive mentality and can endure tough terrains. Most of colleagues made it to the summit although others were overwhelmed at despair point and the tail. Remember to wear gloves and warm cloths like hood as weather changes rapid and gets too cold while nearing the summit.
