Where to start? I did a one day experience at Hell’s gate and all went great. Very friendly and prepared staff, ready to satisfy all needs. We went first to Hell’s gate for biking safari: Unique experience, riding so close to animals. The visit to the gorge was the top, thanks to the Maasai guide, John. He was open to questions and telling many stories about his community. I understood that they have always the same guide for a reason: I saw the others and were less talkative and with a main touristic approach. Right after a relaxing bath into geothermal pool (don’t forget sun cream). Home made Chapati as lunch, under Baboons control (take care of your food). We ended the day with a lake safari: seeing hippos head popping up from water 10 meters away, is such an experience. The driver was really careful, letting me feel relaxed during the travel. I went here with a group of friends and our kids. The place is brand new and the location is fantastic. I'm absolutely terrified of heights but decided to go anyway. First we did a trial run on a mini zip-line and were taught how to "break" and "turn". Then we went for the real thing. The first zipline must be about half a KM! I was terrified and my eyes were closed all the way. We walked a bit to the next zip line and was fine on the next zipline. There are 6 in total. Staff were brilliant and afterwards we had a lovely lunch (there is a buffet but also a la carte) overlooking the valley. See more..

I highly recommend AJ safaris to anyone seeking a professional safari tour. James, the person that coordinates the safari is excellent. He’s very responsive over WhatsApp and planned the perfect safari for my needs. My actual guide was a man named Robert. Robert was very professional, kind, light hearted and knowledgeable. He had a 2 year degree is the safari field, which set him apart from other guides out on the safari. AJ safaris also has the best type of safari vehicles, a modified Toyota Land Cruiser. I would suggest staying away from any safari guides that use cheap 2-wheel drive converted vans, which I saw a lot of out on the Masai Mara. My Safari included going to Lake Navashia for 1 night and Masai Mara for 3-4 nights. It was a great experience. See more..

We had an amazing time booking with Shanjoy. Our safari plans were followed as agreed in advance with our guide and driver. Flexibility and customisation for the safari was provided and different prices available depending on your budget. Also, our guide was encouraged to search and find the animals that you most wanted to see. He drove the car and positioned it always in the best spot to take your pictures and videos in the best angles. He also took care of the places and food we were given to meet a great quality. Veggetarian meals were never an issue. If I had to book it again, I would repeat with Shanjoy given that they are experienced in this field and would provide me an unforgetable experience. See more..

We initially hired a Land Cruiser and top tent for 4 weeks to travel Kenya. We ended up extending our hire for 2 more weeks from George. Organising the hire extension was quick and easy via WhatsApp and George was very responsive. The car went everywhere we needed it to and impressed us on the rough roads of the national parks. We had a few minor car issues because of corrugated park roads but George was always ready to help and provide a solution. George was very hospitable, personable and professional and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip (especially mount Kenya!). I visited Jangwani a week ago and my experience was beyond my expectations . Set on the banks of sagana river with beautiful waterfalls as a backdrop Jangwani is fresh and absolutely refreshing . The luxury tents are well appointed and have no curtains allowing for the morning sun-rays to wake you up to the sound of thundering falls and chirping birds . Oh the shower is awesome and the staff are attentive and extremely helpful . After breakfast we went on a 1and 1/2 hr walk along the river and was impressed by the rich ecosystem teeming with variety of birds . Besides the walk there are a variety of activities to do at Jangwani and this is a great place for anyone looking for soft adventure . Keep it up guys . It’s a great place to spend a day if you want to escape the big city and get back in to the peace and quiet of nature. The forest is home to many birds and other interesting animals. Enjoy the indigenous trees and large ferns as you walk to the waterfall and the cave (with a small population of bats). The hike can be slightly challenging during the wet season as the path easily becomes muddy and slippery- so good hiking boots is recommended. Gatamaiyu evokes emotional awareness surrounding the decline of Kenya's ancient highland forests. A stunning walk through the forest takes you to a river with misty waterfalls. If you look closely, you can see fresh elephant tracks or find delicate orchids hidden in between branches. The trails feel relatively untouched, with old rickety bridges spanning the river. Gatamaiyu reveals what Kenyan highlands might have looked like a century ago. As this forest itself faces threats of deforestation, I would recommend visiting it as soon as possible. Hey everyone! I did a great tour with Andrew over Christmas break! It went from Nairobi to the north of Kenya! Our first stop we made in Aberdares National Park! It is a green natural paradise with waterfalls and changing landscapes! Incredibly beautiful! Afterwards we went towards Mount Kenya! A strenuous day hike up to 3800m was on the program! The summit was within reach! As the last we have headed for the Samburu National Park! A completely different landscape and different temperatures awaited us! The tours through the park were unforgettable! To discover and observe the animals in their country of origin is just an incredible feeling! I would like to thank our guide Andrew for this unforgettable time! He is a great guide - attentive, sympathetic, always friendly and courteous! We did a 5 day safari to 3 different parks and reserves, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. The trip was planned by us in close cooperation with Deep Forest Safari. The owner, Samuel, listened to our questions and request and tailor made the trip. We used AA Lodge in Amboseli which was good but were located just outside the actual park. In Lake Nakuru we used Sopa Lodge which were located inside the park which was very nice. In Masai Mara we also used the AA Lodge again located just outside the park. We believe that if we take another safari, we would opt for lodges placed inside the parks and reserves. Our driver and guide had an eye like a hawk as he spotted animals and birds everywhere. He had also a great knowledge of the different species. All in all a great safari. We can highly recommend Deep Forest Safari. See more..

This was a wonderful stop along our route to Mt. Kenya. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful falls which fall 72m from the top area. There was a festive air about, many people enjoying the area, and photos abound. The payment system (Mpesa) is inconvenient especially if you do not have the account (and as a foreigner, many don’t), but we were able to find someone who did, gave them the cash, and we were in. There are people walking around with chameleons who want to charge you 500 ksh to hold them, people in traditional attire who will dance and take photos with you, vendors walking around selling other things. There is also a picnic area where you pay 200ksh per person for the use of a table (there were very few tables in use) in addition to a very small children’s amusement park area which is also a separate fee. In all, it was a fun, short visit to see the lovely falls and a great place to stop between our two long-distance destinations. See more..
