   It was an absolute delight trekking with Paul and his extra-ordinary team of high altitude porters. If you're new to climbing, worry not. Paul's gentle yet strong presence can make a very challenging section of the mountain seem doable. The routes he picked were absolutely stunning - things just got more and more beautiful as the days passed. I would highly recommend Paul and his team if you are looking to climb Mt Kenya.    This was a wonderful experience. The lodge has been recently built and it’s been designed with imagination and a sense of style. The furniture is built from eucalyptus tree trunks and is all on a larger than life scale. There’s good plumbing but no electricity and no wifi. Lighting in the evenings is hurricane lamps and lots of solar lamps. The rangers were friendly and very helpful. Patrick came in to wash up every morning and returned in the evening to light the fire (there’s a bit of trick to doing this so it doesn’t smoke) and Jimmy and Jack took us a 3 1/2 hour hike into the forest. They are fund of knowledge on the local flora and fauna. We could have gone trout fishing if we’d wanted. A few metres from the house there’s a waterfall and a pool. It’s cold but very refreshing. We’ll definitely come back. See more..
