    Ali Sadr Cave image
In my opinion first attraction of Hamedan. It is about one hour from Hamedan the road is safe and beautiful.around the cave there are lots small souvenir shops , snacks and drinks and a-few restaurants. There is a huge parking . The parking fee is separate from cave entrance. Entrance fee for cave is 100 thousand tooman ( three and half $) . For foreigner it is more expensive but generally speaking it us very cheap. It takes about two hours to visit everything. Beautiful and unique experience. There is no vital creature there . Very clean. Perfect lighting.you see something that never have seen before. There is just one direction and everybody should follow same route. Half with boat and half by walk. Lots of free guides available to answer the questions. I love it and highly recommend it. Ganjnameh Inscriptions image
We drove along the ancient Royal Road to Babylon. But we travelled only 5 kilometres south west to the inscriptions in a rock wall of Darius 1 and his son Xerxes. I went to the waterfall first and was glad I did as it was very attractive and I was able to walk up to it and just sit on a rock and contemplate quietly. I followed some locals around the corner to see where a stream was going but it was a steep climb and I took a photo and went back to survey the inscriptions. The inscriptions were impressive and very clear. They were in three languages, ancient Persian, Elamite and Babylonian. Each was in 20 lines of cuneiform characters running from left to right. A translation is provided - totally self aggrandizing as you would expect. On the way back down the mountain to Hamadan there was a statue of a snowman skiing by the roadside - what a surprise. In the 30+ degree relentless heat of Iran at this time it is hard to imagine enough snow to ski in winter – but there it is. See more..

Actually, Hegmataneh means place of aggregation, it was the first capital of Aryans, Herodotus named it seven Castle because it had seven colourful walls. The first ancient Aryans kingdom, Median was here. History tells us it was built by Deioces, the first king. Unfortunately, governments never emphasize this place and the city is ruined. It's my hometown and that is my sad storytelling. See more..
