We had a very nice afternoon in Sauska, the service was excellent and the food were tasty. The wines were very beautiful too. The only dish we didn’t like was the steak, the side dish was too simple and the meat was not as good as expected. However, we warmly recommend the place to everybody! And definitely we will come back ! See more..

Malatinszky Kuria Organic Wine Estate image
Csaba Malatinszky's veins must run with Cabernet Franc. He is obsessive about tending his vines and says his 30 hectares, farmed organically in Villany and Siklos since 2009, are as much as he'd ever want to own as that'll he can manage himself without delegating. In the Preshaz you have the possibility to enjoy a fantastic atmosphere with amazing wines and delicious, organic cuisine. See more..

    - Wonderful. We went for quiet and hikes with great views, and thats what we found
    Bodies of Water
    Lake Balaton image
Balaton is the largest lake in Eastern Europe. It is surrounded by dozens of small villages and towns (and a few larger ones), attractions and activites for all ages and tastes. We stayed in Tihany, off season. Gorgeous lake view from the room. Walk along the lake in different towns, each place is a bit different, but all have ducks and swans, things to do for kids, clean swimming areas (no sandy beaches), boat rides, historical cites and museums, hikes, whathaveyou nearby. An absolutely wonderful place to go. The hardest part is deciding where to stay. See more..

Lovely Dotto ride around the city and relaxing at one of the many cafe bars around the square. Visited the old mosque (now a Catholic Church) and a short walk to the beautiful Cathedral. Lots of wonderful statues and steeped in history. Coffee and cakes in the lovely cathedral cafe. Spent the whole day just drinking in the atmosphere of this great university city. See more..
  10. 4.5 Zsolnay Cultural Quarter (226 reviews)
    - A day through porcelains
    Scenic Walking Areas
    Zsolnay Cultural Quarter image
This place is renovated for the European Cultural Capital, 2010. It seems that they was paying attention for the view, because the beuildings are beautiful, full of Zsolnay porcelain. There are many small museums in this quarter. You must pqy all of them to visit. There is 't a ticket where you can visit all although it would be very very expansive. The exhibitions seperately are also expensive and unfortunately they are quite small. But if you are there, you must see the Mausoleum of Zsolnay family and the exhibition about the Zsolnay porcelain's golden age. It can be a whole day program. See more..
  11. 4.5 Zsolnay Museum (167 reviews)
    - Must see porcelain art!
Friday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Speciality Museums • Art Museums
    Zsolnay Museum image
This museum was one of the highlights of Pécs, Hungary. The traditional Zsolnay designs and the more recent art nouveau pieces are spectacular. I also took a look at the factory, but it was not operational on a Sunday. It is recommended that if you want to buy any pieces that you go to the store in downtown Pécs instead of the store adjacent to the factory due to a creepy and rude proprietress. See more..

One of the pleasures of being in such a beautiful town is to walk on these pedestrian only streets. Kiraly Utca is incredibly beautiful, with magnificent buildings right and left, trendy restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, pizzerias ( Hungarians fell in love with pizzas, I prefer their traditional ways of cooking). Take you time and explore! See more..

  16. 4.5 Victor Vasarely Museum (67 reviews)
    - I loved the tapestries
    Art Museums
    Victor Vasarely Museum image
This small little museum contains a sampling of works from the various periods of Vasarely’s artistic career and a room in which you can watch a documentary. The rooms are filled with Vasarely’s paintings, drawing, large tapestries, and 3D pieces such as the famous his chess set. You will be amazed by his zebra and chess-related artworks. I really liked Claire Vasarely’s bucolic, fancy tapestries. Were they handwoven in the Atelier Tabard Freres in Aubusson France? I really loved the tapestries I saw but expected more information on how they both ventured onto this interesting medium. In addition to the museum I recommend visiting Vasarely’s Sign Sculpture made of porcelain tile outside Pauline Church in Pécs. See more..

  18. 4.5 Kohegyi Kilato (45 reviews)
    - The view is spectacular
    Lookouts
    Kohegyi Kilato image
It's quite a long trip to get there by foot from Zamárdi but if you have a car, you can be up the hill in 3 minutes. You just have to find the really narrow street that goes up. The view from the tower is so really spectacular. You can see the whole lake Balaton from there with the mountain region on the other side. And it's completely free of charge. You can take as many photos as you like, and those are memories to take home. There is a small shop for ice cream and beverages at the top if you want to stay more because the view has captured you. Note that because of the altitude, it is always quite windy so you should have a sweater with you even during Summer. See more..

    Gere Attila Pinceszete- Winery image
I have been to visit this winery several times and have come away from something different each time. We were blessed to have Tamás take us around. He has been with the winery 6 years and knows every tale story and secret of the place. The tour started in their newly renovated beautiful wine room (love the fireplace), and then after sampling the first 3 wines we walked through the winery. The tour ends up in the reserve room, which is always fascinating! Thanks Tamás, and Athus for the special wine! See more..
