The team of Turajo is really nice and alsó the program offers. I had fantastic time-travelling tour at Inota, former power plant building. I visited it twice with my friends, i think it is a great cultural program where you can go back to time and you can get an insight into the workers life and the function of the building. I will go again, I am sure. Thank you for the experience ❤️ See more..

Absolutely lovely place. We've been here several years ago and it's only getting better! The owner's daughter speaks excellent English and is a great introduction to the world of Nemeth's wines. Delicious snacks: bread, ham and cheese. A must-have accessory for your tasting! Lovely, homely atmosphere. It's fun to be a part of it! See more..
  6. 5.0 Malom Lake (44 reviews)
    - Picture Perfect
Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Scenic Walking Areas
    Malom Lake image
We visited this picture perfect waterside square for the second time and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a beautiful setting for a walk, or to sit in one of the cafes and enjoy the views of the sherbet coloured buildings and the picturesque water wheel. The little ‘lake’ leads down onto a river, which I guess is man made, and both are filled with more Koi Carp than I have ever seen before! You can buy food to feed the fish and ducks. There’s also a museum of work by painter and sculptor Laszlo Marton but we didn’t go in. See more..
  7. 5.0 Rókusfalvy Estate (41 reviews)
    - Great Wine Tasting
    Friday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Rókusfalvy Estate image
Dear Friends, I first started to deal with wine in 1999, after falling in love with the atmosphere of Budapest's vineyards and the romanticism of Etyek. What began as a hobby, with an initial production of just four barrels a year, evolved after a few years into a way of life-into a vineyard that has expanded to many hectares, producing 22,000 bottles of wine each year. The one-man entreprise has become a family estate: my wife, my brother, and my son are my partners, always with me in my passion. However, we are concerned not only with the fate of our estate, but also of Etyek, the Budapest wine region, and Hungarian wine more generally. I am very grateful for this lifelong pursuit, a labor of love that I hope to pass on to future generations. We are blessed with a wonderful team who are devoted to creating a memorable experience for visitors to our estate. They will guide you through the flavors of Etyek, introduce you to the terroir of our vineyards, and help you feel the magic and romance of the countryside. We would be honored to welcome you at Rókusfalvy Birtok! Rókusfalvy Pál See more..

    Sümeg Castle image
It was a really good experience. The castle is renovated with many places to explore. You can lost in this huge castle if you are not take care! There are many programs in the castle, too. We could try fresh goat milk (it's delicious!!!) and you can also try many other middle age things. It is a very good program for children because there are a lot os games in the garden of the castle for little ones. The exhibition is more than enough. But you have to be careful, the walk up to the castle is very steep but it deserves the hiking. See more..

    - Town rich in history
    Historic Walking Areas
    Gyor Old Town Area image
We visited Gyor on our Daytrip journey from Budapest to Vienna. Located half way between these two major European capitals, Gyor is at the confluence of three rivers, the Danube, Raba and Rabca. The earliest settlers of the area were the Celts in the 5th century BC, followed by the Romans in the 1st century BC, the Slavs in the 6th century AD, the Lombards, the Franks and then the Magyars, the founders of the Hungarian state in the 9th century AD. The city was the scene of frequent conquests and occupations by the Ottomans over the Centuries and was completely burnt down in the 1600's. Gyro is considered the second richest town in historical buildings in Hungart despite its varied past. The city has charming cobbled stone streets, a collection of Neo-Baroque secular buildings and magnificent Churches. See more..

    - Thousand years of history

This Archabbey was founded over a thousand years ago, part of the current building are over 800 years old. Even if you are not religious this is an interesting place to visit to learn a lot about Hungarian history. It is a 25 minutes’ drive from Győr (a lovely city in north-west Hungary, about 90 minutes drive from either Vienna or Budapest, also well worth visiting). Although the visitors’ centre is a steep walk away from the Abbey you may drive up to the tourists’ entrance. Take a guided tour and you’ll learn a lot. The library hosting 360.000 volume is alone worth the trip, but there are lots and lots more to see. See more..

  15. 4.5 Szigliget Castle (268 reviews)
    - Great view, worth visiting
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Castles
    Szigliget Castle image
Thousand year old castles with great views are my favorite places to visit in Europe. Sziglet has 'only' been around since the 13th century, and it's layout and history are pretty standard- but the view of lake Balaton is fantastic. Surprisingly, many of the explanations on the history of the castle are in English, and detail the strategic placing of the castle as well as its history. Free parking, easy to get to by car. 16. 4.5 Tagore Promenade (260 reviews)
    - Fantastic space
Spent More than 3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Tagore Promenade image
We are still amazed at the Fantastic Job that city planners have made in Hungary. This is a fantastic space, long, wide, with rows of plated trees already very tall and mature. With shops, pubs, ice cream parlors, and restaurants, the yacht club, street vendors in an orderly manner. Immaculate condition...Just beautiful. There are all kind of entertainment happening for free, dancers, musicians...everything happens there....I felt in love with that promenade and Balatonfured! See more..

    Bory Castle image
Very easy to find the castle. Parking is free. Entrance ticket is 2000 HUF (5.4 EUR) per person. A lot of statues and flowers along the path. Most interesting is the Mosaic stairs and the view from the top. Unfortunately the bell tower was closed when we visited. There are souvenirs at the cashier desk and painting that you can buy in the Gallery section. Bottom line it is nice to visit and spend the time. See more..
  18. 4.5 Laposa Birtok (208 reviews)
    - Grandious View of the Lake
Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Laposa Birtok image
Azt gondoljuk, csodára leltünk a világ e kis zugában. Itt szeretnénk olyan borokat készíteni, melyek soha nem téveszthetők össze más borvidékekről származókkal. Olyan borokat, melyek kérdezés nélkül mesélnek arról, honnan származnak, milyen ott a tél és a nyár, hogyan cseperedtek és hogyan váltak zsenge kamaszból felnőtté. Olyan borokat, melyekben minden íz fellelhető, de egyik sem tolakszik, melyekben érezhető mind a természet ereje, mind a mögötte álló ember tudatossága. See more..

    - Gorgeous castle

    Esterhazy Palace image
We absolutely adored our trip to this beautiful castle. We somehow ended up on a Hungarian tour but the guide translated the tour to us simultaneously. She was extremely nice and helpful, obviously knew a lot on the history of the place. The rooms are exquisite. The reception of the castle is quite possibly one of the most charming rooms I’ve ever seen. I would bring a hat and gloves if you go in the winter because the rooms aren’t heated! But definitely worth the detour See more..
  21. 4.5 Sopron Old Town (149 reviews)
    - Beautiful old town right on the Austrian-Hungarian border
Historic Walking Areas • Scenic Walking Areas
    Sopron Old Town image
A jewel box on the edge of western Hungary, right on the Austrian-Hungarian border, a bicycle ride away from Eisenstadt, the capital of Burgenland. The old town is just beautiful, rather small, easy to see everything in a day, and still relax and have a nice dinner. Local wine is excellent. The birthplace of Franz (Ferenc) Liszt is a short ride away (now in Austria). Alexandre Lamfalussy, the father of the euro, lived and went to high school in Sopron. Do you need any more reason to take a small detour if you visit Vienna or Budapest? If so, check out the bike routes around the Neusiedler See (Fertő tó) and the Eszterházy palace in Fertőd. See more..

It's perfect for families or for friends as well. Thank you ZOO TEAM! See more..

  26. 4.5 Liliomkert Market (75 reviews)
    - Top Hungarian market to visit
    Farmers Markets
    Liliomkert Market image
We were blown away by this fantastic market, which is definitely the best one we have visited in Hungary (and possibly anywhere). Many stalls are in little wooden huts, and these are nestled within trees, so the heat is kept off your head for a lot of the time. Stalls have delicious food, many types of goods, handmade crafts and antique finds. There are lots of hand made ceramic items that we liked. It’s a shame we’re going home by plane, so we couldn’t buy more! I would definitely recommend a trip to Liliomkerti Piac and there are plenty of other interesting places to visit nearby. See more..
