- 4.5 Naciones Unidas El Picacho Park (437 reviews)
-Great city views!
Spent 2-3 hours Parks
I only went up there to see the statue, but there's huge park surrounding it featuring various plants. There are great views of the city as well. I was disappointed the museum/souvenir shop had nothing specifically related to the park or the statue. The entrance fee to the park was 35 Lempiras for foreigners (yes, a higher price for foreigners; it's on the sign at the park entrance) and another 10 Lempiras to enter the area where the statue is. Expect to spend a few hours here. See more..

The Altar is a beauty! The ambiance during special celebrations are quite special: Easter Week of the City´s Anniversary. - 4.5 Honduras National Gallery of Art (16 reviews)
-Art gallery, historic building, definitely worth a visit
Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Art Galleries
It's not huge, and the display styles can be outdated, but the National Art Gallery is worth visiting if you're in Tegucigalpa. It's off Plaza La Merced in the centre. It's in a 350-year-old building (renovated over the years) with an attractive garden courtyard and eight or nine galleries on two floors covering the history of Honduran art, from Mayan and other pre-Columbian works, through religious art of the 17th and 18th Centuries. The religious paintings, uncleaned and with a dark patina, are quite compelling. There's an excellent collection of silver works from churches, and a good representation of contemporary Honduran works. See more..

- 4.0 Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepcion (18 reviews)
-Beautiful Spanish colonial building
Religious Sites
Located in Comayaguela the city connected to Tegucigalpa, one of many chures that youll find, typical Spanish church, with a rustic Spanish building, small, with many monuments, high ceiling, and rustic double doors, this one in particular brings many memories to me, every december 8 we celebrated my birthday starting by attending this church and receiving the mass, at the end of the mass, the parroquia brings the Mariachis into the church celebrating the birthday of the virgen Immaculate as well , outside you could hear firecrakers booming over the ski, and many people gathering for this occassion, I assume celebrations are the same in every church arround this town. The only bad thing are the streets, so narrow arround this area making trasportation hard to manage. See more..

- 3.5 Antigua Casa Presidencial (45 reviews)
-A window to the past
Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Government Buildings
We loved this place! Not for everyone though. If you are a history fan then by all means, make sure to visit "antigua" casa presidencial. The museum is not spectacular but it allows you a peak into Honduras' past. I had the pleasure of meeting a retired historian who was working at transcribing colonial records. He was amazing and took time from his work to tell us a bit about the history of his beloved country. If you are into architecture you will appreciate this beautiful old building. I agree that there is room for improvement, but considering the fact that the government doesn't really pay much interest to keeping it's historical buildings up and running or paying the people that are restoring and transcribing it's historical documents, they are doing a pretty good job. - 3.5 Plaza Central (16 reviews)
-Pin it on your visit map
Points of Interest & Landmarks
How can we describe this place and be fair enough? Ok. I´ll say ... it sure was much better when I was a child and visit the city center. But, it has this strange beauty, you need to discover. You can see old buildings and new offices... lot of places to eat , if you are not afraid of trying home made dishes. What I recommend to visit? The Cathedral, The Congress, The MIN ( Museum for National Identity), La Leona, and you can get lost (on purpose) on this tiny streets. However you can expect a lot of beggars, running children ... noise from the taxis and buses... and a lot of friendly people! See more..
- 3.5 Archaeological Museum (Museo Arqueológico) (14 reviews)
-Closed due to the Covid Curse
Friday: 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM History Museums

- 3.5 Museum Villa Roy (8 reviews)
-Villa Roy is no longer in operation.
Speciality Museums
Villa Roy is no longer in operation; however, the office of the Archeological Institute is still functional. There are maintenance staff and security guards on site. It is evident that the building has severe structural damages. Five expensive cars from the 1950's are still parked in the carport. You can get a beautiful view of the surrounding hills on the north side. See more..
