- 5.0 Ghanaecotours.com Day Tours (36 reviews)
-engaging and fascinating
Sightseeing Tours
This was one of the best tours I've ever taken, and being a licensed tour guide and tour agency operator in New York City, I've taken hundreds! Our guide Enoch was a ton of fun and had a wealth of information, including the depth to convey context, a very important element to a tour that discusses topics like colonialism and the transatlantic slave trade. After the tour we met Felix, the business owner, and had a lovely conversation with him on a wide variety of issues. Between Enoch and Felix, we were given a highly informed Ghanaian perspective on many different things. This tour is a must do for anyone visiting Elmina and Cape Coast. See more..

- 5.0 Obuoba Tours (14 reviews)
-Memorable Experience
4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Taxis & Shuttles • Motorcycle Tours • Cooking Classes • Hiking & Camping Tours • Self-Guided Tours & Rentals • Bus Tours • Day Trips
This was my first trip to Ghana and Charles made it a very memorable experience. He was able to not only take the stress off of navigating but also help with handling interactions as he speaks the local language. Having Charles around felt like we had another friend in our group. He was very professional but relaxed at the same time and made sure that our vacation was being enjoyed. I would recommend Charles to everyone and whether you just need someone to get you from place to place or you want to sightsee but are not sure where, Charles is the guy for you. See more..

We did it all and it was absolutely amazing! I am not sure I have the words to explain how phenomenal our Ghana trip was but I will try. We were there 10 days and spent a couple of days in Accra, Cape Coast, and Kumasi. During this time we visited multiple villages, museums, slave dungeons, historical monuments, participated in naming ceremony, hiked, took a cooking class, trekked across canopies above the trees, canoed along waterfalls, tried our hand at making kente cloth, and we PARTIED (karaoke, dancing, etc.) Michael and his team were with us the entire time. They were knowledgeable, kind, professional, flexible, our photographers (LOL), etc...the best tour guide I've ever had! Whatever we asked, they made it happen, effortlessly (we didn't have to ask for much because it was like they read our mind). I am forever grateful for this life changing experience and it would not have been possible without Torch Light Tours! See more..

- 5.0 Cape Coast and Elmina Day tour (4 reviews)
-Wonderful Experience and Tour
Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Paint & Pottery Studios • Multi-day Tours • Taxis & Shuttles • Private Tours • Day Trips
Although this was a heartbreaking and sad tour, the guides were remarkable explaining the atrocity of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Their explanation allowed us to emotionally experience and understand the suffering of the Africans kidnapped into slavery. The Cape Castle and Elmina Castle are horrific even in their ruined state. - 5.0 Ghana Motorbike Tours (2 reviews)
-Awesome experience!
Multi-day Tours • Taxis & Shuttles • Bike Tours • Motorcycle Tours • Private Tours
My buddy Josh and I flew to Accra from the states and got bikes through Charles. We got the Royal brand 200cc dualsports and rode 4,750km through Ghana, Togo, and Cote D’ivoire over about a month. It’s an incredible place to ride: we met lots of great people and the scenery and beaches were fantastic. Charles got us setup with a hotel in Accra and helped us find bikes within 24 hours of arriving and sell the bikes within 24 hours of departure. It would have been a lot more difficult without him! Highly recommend!! See more..
- 5.0 Esi's Ghanaian Cooking Workshop (1 review)
-Learn to cook Red Red and Palava sauce with Yams
Spent 1-2 hours Cooking Classes
This was part of a 2-day tour with Ashanti Africa Tours to the Cape Coast and definitely the highlight. Esi makes this a hands-on experience as she walks you through each step of the various dishes. She is a delightful woman with a reputation as an excellent cook and the owner of a small restaurant in Elmina. When we sat down to eat the finished product along with a local beer, it was the best meal I had during my entire stay in Ghana. See more..

-Using "Let's Go Tours" In Ghana, West Africa
Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent More than 3 hours Taxis & Shuttles
While in Ghana last September I and two friends used Kwame Annan, driver and owner of Let's Go Tours to take us on a trip from Cape Coast to Mole Park and back. It was a trip of a life time. The car was comfortable (one of my friends was 91 years old) and Kwame did an amazing job of not only driving but as our cultural guide. He took us to places of interest on the way and accommodated our every wish. I can recommend this method of travel in Ghana as the best ever and not a bank breaker. Great! See more..

- 4.5 Elmina Free Walking Tour (9 reviews)
-Cosmology Tour
Walking Tours
We met Sankara before booking a tour and talked about our specific interests. As a result we got personalised tour. He also accommodated my disability which limits how far i can walk. The tour itself was the kind of thing you won't find elsewhere. He knows places that you would never find yourself, and even if you did you still wouldn't get the access that he provides. It's obvious that this is because he's built a trusting relationship with many people you encounter on the tour. In between stops Sankara talks knowledgeably, both broad and deep. You'll have to decide whether to simply listen or interrupt with questions. Either way you'll learn plenty. He has a good feel for where visitors are at, and pitches his information well. I'll do another tour with him sometime. I'm certain he's a tour guide who could deliver many different tours, on different levels, historical, local interest, esoteric etc etc etc. See more..

- 4.0 Monkey Forest Resort (61 reviews)
-Must see! Great fun
Nature & Wildlife Areas
I had hoped to see some animals at Kakum National Forest while walking on the canopy walk but we saw none (only a butterfly). So we decided to stop and see live monkeys. It was a very and very entertaining decision. I will look forward to returning and showing new people that travel with me as well. If you want to see “LIVE ANIMALS” Kakum is not the place, but the Monkey Forest and the live crocodiles at Hans Cottage Botel (both on the road to Kakum from Cape Coast) are great opportunities to see them. - 4.0 Fort Lijdzaamheid (4 reviews)

- 3.5 Fort St Jago (25 reviews)
-Cannot get inside
Historic Sites
If you visit Elmina castle, take half an hour and go to the hill with Fort St Jago. Unfortunately, you cannot get inside but you will see the fishermen village and lagoon from above. See more..
- 3.0 Fort Good Hope (6 reviews)
-Historic and Scenic Senya
Historic Sites
The only notable attraction in the village of Senya lies at the bottom of the main road that leads to the beach. Overlooking this beach is the Fort of Good Hope, established centuries ago by the Portuguese because they wanted to revive the gold trade. Unfortunately 10 years later, economic reality forced them to return to the more lucrative slave trading business. Today, the fort has been partially restored and serves as hostel lodging with a small bar. It also serves as the most photographic landscape in the village. You can likely enter the fort without charge and find plenty of locations to take pictures. You won't find the dungeons and doors of no return like more prominent forts further down the coast, but the views of the beach and local fishermen are incredible. It's best to visit after a rain, so the odor of local excrement nearby doesn't overwhelm. See more..
