    St. Thekla Monastery image
Lovely monastery with well kept gardens and beautiful church. There is a place where you can take therapeutic mud home with you ( so take a spoon and plastic tupper with you) as Agia Thekla is the patroness of skin diseases. By buying items at the small souvenir shop you will help with the keeping expenses of the place. I highly recommend the home made mosfilo jam by the nuns which makes a very special- if not unique gift to take back home if you're a tourist( Mosfilo is a kind of hawthorn tree with yellow berries called mosfila & only grows in a handful of countries, Cyprus being one of them) See more..

I have known Mike for a few years and he introduced me both to great people (= Savvas & Michalis!) on the island, who appreciate nature, remoteness and sports, as well as to the island itself! One can hardly believe how special Cyprus is once you venture outdoors, to the mountains, away from the beaches. Vast untouched forests, single trails to ride, authentic villages and great food. Activate Cyprus brings all of these together - so, do join them on one of their tours, or just talk to them and get inspired! See more..

Pan and Ari, the instructors for our group, were absolutely amazing and patient. Opa, Pan!! The manager, Angie is an absolute sweetheart. Many cold bevvies in the comfy lounge area once kiting was done for the day! Music and friendly people all over the place We were in the IKO course, so mornings were spent waiting for wind and chilling out, afternoon was kiting in absolutely brilliant conditions (WARM water, waist deep) and after that, more chilling out at Kahuna. We were also fortunate enough to be there for King of Kite, the annual championship that Kahuna hosts. All in all, amazing vibe, amazing time, and can't wait to go back! See more..

There were plenty of beds, deckchairs and beanbags with good shade if wanted. We finished the day off by having a late lunch/early dinner in the family restaurant. As a coeliac I'm always nervous about eating out but from the start Elizabeth and her family were very attentative to my needs and provided a delicious and substantial meal at a very reasonable price. Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums
Kato Drys Bee & Embroidery Museum image
The entire visit to this museum was well worth it. The owner's daughter greeted us, we paid €3 per person and off we went. The Bee making process was explained to us clearly and with lots of things to see to support the information that was being imparted. It was extremely interesting and highly informative. We were lucky enough to be able to try the honey straight from the honeycomb, somewhat different to the honey in a jar. Delicious. We were then left to look around and move on to the embroidery part of the museum. Again enough to see to be able to get a feel for the locally well known embroidery Lefkara Lace. Although the the museum is relatively small there is quite a bit to see. We then took the path through the museum garden, to exit the museum. There were some beautiful flora to be seen. For more on Lefkara Lace you need to visit the village of Lefkara to meet the locals. See more..

  30. 4.0 Choirokoitia Neolithic Settlement (221 reviews)
    - Amazing Village
    Spent 1-2 hours Ancient Ruins
    Choirokoitia Neolithic Settlement image
On the way from Limassol to Nicosia we stopped at the Neolithic Settlement of Choirokoitia (also known as Khirokita). This UNESCO World Heritage site is considered one of the most important prehistoric sites in the Eastern Mediterranean. It was occupied from the 7th to the 5th millennium BC, so is more than 7,000 years old. The site contains both the original settlement ruins (up a fairly steep trail) and an area where the buildings have been reconstructed (at the bottom and easily accessible to all). While everyone else in our group went back down the same way that they came up, I discovered that the trail went in a circle and came down the other side. This was clearly shown on a map at the bottom buy of course, we all headed to the top first. See more..
