   This place is absolutely paradise. We went to Zhu Hai during on a morning and the air is cool, fresh like nowhere else in cities in China. It is perfect for walks and hikes. In the park, the ride in a cable car to the top of the mountain is highly recommended to see the biggest bamboo jungle in China. There is an entrance fee to the park as well as separate fee for the cable car. To get a cheaper entrance fee, we book through our hotel in Zhu Hai which is just nearby so maybe that's what every tourists should do to save a bit of money. The downside of this area is that its far from the town but still reachable by public bus. See more..

   A Gem in the middle of crazy....This is a massive park that you can really take your time and spend all day with a picnic or head in to on your lunch break for 20 minutes for some down time. Great big manicured gardens and paving meets winding paths and natural areas to the you to different areas of the park. You can walk easily or take wheel chairs in most areas. you can also hire bikes for a very reasonable fee. you can even do random bikes if you are keen.    Spent a rainy September day exploring the cavern and associated park lands with work friends. Third largest cavern in the world, easy walking access though some of the stairs are rather steep. Lots of artificial coloured lights on cavern features and the waterfall and underground river were in full flow. End of the cave is a short boat ride to the exit which was a neat way to finish. We also took the chair lift to the top of the mountain and though the rainy weather masked some of the view it was still a great experience. A good destination for a family day trip. See more..

   This temple is HUGE. The grounds are lovely and peaceful and one could take a nice leisurely walk to view various statues of boddhisatvas, immortals etc. May of it comes with english captions which is great for tourists who do not know Mandarin. We were extremely privileged to be able to join in their vegetarian lunch. Thats an incredible experience by itself into the study of mindfulness. No talking, only focus on your food. The vegetarian dishes served were somehow very flavourful and delicious, perhaps because of our focus and enforced silence! Certainly very glad to be able to experience it. See more..

    Dingshu Town 丁蜀镇 and Dingshan Town 丁山镇 run together about a 50 Yuan taxi ride from Yixing City 宜兴市。 This is the place to buy a fine clay teapot, to use in making gongfu style tea 功夫茶。They are small and made from the local special clay 宜兴紫砂。They are famous throughout China. Dozens of small shops are located side by side in this area. It isn't just a single museum. Look a lot of the items before you buy. Remember to bargain. A well made teapot here will cost you a fraction of what it would in Shanghai. See more..

    This is the smaller of the 2 Cave parks near Yixing. We did not have much time and we decided to go here with our child. Small park that is just another attraction to attract tourist money. If it is on the way and you are into caves then worth visiting. The cave itself is large and lit up in multi-colors. The ticket includes some cave rafting as well and and small water rafting course. There is a small temple as well. A nice outing about a 15min drive from Yixing, but only if you have spare time in your schedule. See more..

    A group of around 20 of us visited on a Saturday. It was super crowded with large groups of domestic chinese tourists. The outside is pretty enough but entering the cave is rather stressful because of the crowds. It does not seem to be a very big cave and many parts have been modified to cater for tourists. Many coloured lights all over and there seems to be a lot of canals inside. There were some interesting sections but because of the crowds, we felt rather rushed. The atmosphere felt rather humid.     - Karst cave with gorgeous stalactites

    Linggu Cave is one of the three famous Karst caves of YiXing (other two being ShanJuan and ZhangGong). It's the least famous of the three and my favorite (because there are fewer tourists). Lots of magnificent stalactite formations to see. Wear raincoat and rainshoes because it's very wet and water dropping from over head. It's slippery so be cautious and take good care of kids.
