   It’s been a while since I saw a temple that I liked as much as this. It is calm and peaceful. There is the pagoda but the surrounding buildings is worth a visit as well. During my visit, right before lunchtime, it was not at all crowded. There was some constructions around the area and around one building on the temple grounds, but there are plenty of buildings to go around so that’s no biggie! The city gate is close by and you’ll pass some interesting genuine “old” Chinese quarters on your way, just keep your eyes open! See more..

   Very impressive rock cut grottoes. They are home to Buddhist cave temples, and other places of worship containing magnificent rock carved/cut statues. There were 19 caves, but some have been destroyed by earthquakes and by the creation of a water reservoir. Beautiful scenic water and mountain views. See more..

   If in Wuwei you should take the path past the reconstructed city gate, either by day or by night, or why not both. At night, not sure if this is an everyday event, but I think so, there is a light and fountain show. They also play music in loudspeakers that at first might seem a little bit too much, but then actually is quite ok. Not many tourists come to these parts of China, but I think Chinese tourists come here, and the Chinese are often out and about at night so you won’t be alone, a daytime visit might suite you better if you’re not into crowds.    白塔寺是凉州一个很有名的景点了，不知是什么原因，这么有名的景区人却非常非常少，看着很空旷，不过少了其他景区的喧闹嘈杂，感觉也很不错，景区中部最大的一座就是西藏佛教领袖萨班顿式塔，周围几座造型一样的小塔环绕四周，景区很安静，游玩感觉很好，不过吃饭不太方便，很难找到饭店，小吃店 See more..

   i should say it really worth a visit. As Wuwei is the entrance of the silk road, it's like a pearl of the Gansu Corridor. Stories about DongxuanZang's great Journey to India to pursue the Buddhism scripture, and tales about the foreign pioneer traders, it's the communication which proceed the history progress.
