   Recommend to see this town before it gets too commercialized. This historic town was an important part of the tea horse road. The old theatre in the middle of the town and a visit to the Ouyang family home are a must. The Ouyang family made their fortune as inn keepers in the early days and the descendants still live there. For 10 rmb per person the matriarch would be happy to give you a tour of the family courtyard home which is very much in the original condition. See more..

   我们开车从上海到金仓湖，停车比较方便，有专门停车场，建议能早点去还是早些去，周末节假日还是车和人比较多的。公园面积很大，我们骑自行车，走走停停游玩一圈大约2个小时。湖的大小据说是上海美兰湖的10倍，而且湖边的绿地极大，搭帐篷休闲游玩的人，放风筝的真不少。 See more..

    It wasn't easy to get there from the center of Tai Cang.I took local bus 203 to the very end.If you get off right before you reach the bridge in Fu qiao village it is only about a half hour walk east towards where the ships are being loaded.Beware of coming back late.I left at 4:30pm and never did get a bus back.Instead I shared a car ride back with two other Chinese business men.The ride on the bus takes about an hour and passes two impressive temples.One mentioned here,The Hai Tian Temple.Zheng He was the commander of a group of ships that may have gone to America 70 years before Columbus.There is a book called 1421 that chronicles his voyages and provides an interesting contrast to the western stuff we were fed in school.Cost is now 30 yuan.     We went to Taicang park with our little daughter. They have some carousels for kds there. Our daughter on 15 mth liked to ride on those. cosy with a lot of vegetation, small rivers og a lot of steps. Not so geat to bring trolleys in this Park. If you are i Taicang, whu not have a look.
