   I regret to say I have not been here earlier. This is so green, so quiet, and yet so close to Shanghai. You can hire bikes and drive around. There are activities to be done (karting, paintball shooting, bumper cars, boats) but you might ad well just enjoy the tranquility and the beautifull nature. It is a pity it is not easy to get there from Shanghai center without car (on the other hand that means also of course it is not terribly crowded). See more..

   We went to Baoyang Lu Harbor via Line 3 BaoyangLu Metro Station and took a ferry boat from Shanghai and arrived to Chongming's port town of Nanmen (南门)after 45 minutes (fare is around 28RMB). It's hard to find a hotel in Nanmen so I advise to book a hotel before goinh there. The taxi ride from Namen to Xisha is roughly RMB 90, you can also take a local private car at 100RMB.Xisha wetland has no entrance fee. The place is amazing! so relaxing .The green fields are visible in the wide horizon. A wooden path running through it allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of beautiful plants,a small lake,birds, trees and other wildlife.My family enjoyed the nature so much! Some folks are selling Bamboo sticks with a piece of meat on the end, which are used to rake up the crabs at 10RMB.Boat rides are available too. At the end of the wetland is a big lake called Mingzhu Lake Park, it has an entrance fee. See more..

    Spent a delightful day at the Dongtan Natural Nature Reserve wetlands on Chongming Island. After walking to the subway, we got the bus and travelled through the tunnel to cross to Changxing Island, next crossed a long bridge to Chongming Island and finally a taxi to our destination, the nature Park where we hired bikes. Away from the hectic shoppers, cars and bikes of Shanghai it was so nice to have clean air and explore the paths around the waterways. Travelling with a Chinese friend it was fun to experience so many modes of transport, and very clearp. It took around 3'hrs. It was a Friday, so not so many people. As it was summer we did not experience the bird life as in spring or autumn, but we did see an alligator basking in the sun which was a bonus to the day. See more..

    我去的时候都没什么薰衣草了，紫海那一片就看到犁好的地，花感觉不像谢了，应该是要等到明年花期才会开吧。鹭就真没看到了。因为园子里面路标都是空白的，好多相关设施都没弄好，要是好好开发应该会蛮漂亮的。那只羊驼超可爱的，脾气不是一般的温柔，也很智慧。哈哈~~我觉得我最大的收获就是去那“调戏”羊驼了，真想养只当宠物啊~~ See more..

    We loved the tour on the very reasonably priced bikes, double and single bikes available at a fraction of the price that they charge at the Hyatt. The light rain kept it quiet and a picnic would be nice out there. The goats, swans and geese are quite happy and you can buy them food at the shack up the path.
