Rockwood Park offers much more than meets the eye. While the majority of people congregate at the easy to access areas just off the road near Lily or Fisher Lakes in reality this only encompasses about 20% of the park. Beyond the road in the park of the park lays real, wild nature and some of the best scenery you are gonna find in NB. Check out the Mackay Skyway for genuinely awe inspiring views of the Citiy's east side. It is a park, free to use for the public with amazing trails that are used for both hiking and biking. If you like greenery, cliffs, valleys and forest this is the place for you. If you do not like these things, you probably should not come to a park expecting an amusement park. See more..

It is open for visitors throughout the day and they appear to encourage people to enter the theatre and view the restoration work. The restoration work was completed by master tradespeople including those brought in from overseas in order to replicate the methodology/outcomes of the original techniques. It is said that one can stand on the stage and speak quietly with a normal voice and it can be heard anywhere within the theatre. Well worth seeing. See more..

I went here because it was highly rated but it was really a disappointment. I believe on the website it said there would be around 9meters of tide rise. we paid $30 (for 2 people) to go on the skywalk but honestly it was quite a waste of money. overall the tides were cool to see but it would be better to just go on the bridge or nearby sights to see instead of paying money. - Nice Park
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    King's Square image
Nice little park in the city with interesting history. The Grandstand, which is the centre point of the park was the most interesting part for me. Lots of different Monuments and Memorials here to see. Street parking is available here too, especially in the morning. Ended up here twice during our visit and there is a distinct difference between morning and night here, as it was getting a little sketchy at night. I could see the change occurring at dusk so best to visit here earlier in the day. Worth a visit if you have time on your hands. See more..

  26. 4.0 Carleton Martello Tower (189 reviews)
    - 200 years of history
    Historic Sites
    Carleton Martello Tower image
The tower brings 200 years of history to be acclaimed a National Historic Site. The brochure says it has “a rich history, a spectacular view, a bastion of fun!”. I agree with the first two but “no bastion of fun” for me, it’s undergoing a substantial restoration, so interior viewing was not possible. Still, you can imagine the tower sitting imposingly over the surrounding area, whose combatants were ready to defend Canada at all costs. See more..

My wife grew up on this lonely point. Her Father was the Lighthouse Keeper. We love returning to this spot remembering the personal sacrifice a family would make to guide others safely home.
